Teen rushed to hospital after near drowning in hotel pool
KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- A teenage boy was rushed to an area hospital after he nearly drowned at a hotel pool Sunday afternoon. Emergency crews were called to SureStay Plus Hotel at 7333 NE Parvin Rd. just after 1 p.m. after the teen was found at the bottom of the pool.

Woman pulled from burning home
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A woman was rescued from a burning home in the 5800 block of east 15th Terrace early Sunday morning. Firefighters were called to 5830 E 15th Terrace just after 4:00 Sunday morning. Initial reports say flames were showing on arrival. The fire reportedly started on the back deck.

On March 10 and 11, I photographed the Heart of America Kennel Club's annual cluster of dog shows, held at Hale Arena in the American Royal Center. Professional handlers and owners commingled in this all-breed competition, where the dogs were judged by breed, group, and, finally, best in show.
