Overland Park's bomb squad officers X-rayed the bag and determined there wasn't anything hazardous inside. Downtown Kansas City, Kansas, at Seventh Street and Minnesota Avenue was shut down for about two and a half hours.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Kansas City Power and Light is warning its customers of a dramatic increase in reported scammers posing at KCP&L employees over the phone. KCP&L said in a news release that 326 attempted utility collection call scams were reported in the first quarter of 2018 compared to 185 in 2017, a 76 percent increase.

    Let's see - you have a thirty-something who's marginally skilled enough to ride a bicycle, but who scraped together enough to make the down payment of a Ford f-150 (or a POS GMC or Chevy F-150 wannabe), zipping along at least ten miles over the speed limit, reading a text from his wife or one of his girlfriends, and he realizes he's about to miss his exit, so he tries to cut off a semi - yup, that's "driver inattention" alright.
