SHAME!!! YOUNG WORKER KILLED FOR SMOKES AS KANSAS CITY HOMICIDE SPIKE SPIRALS OUT OF CONTROL!!!
Once again Kansas City is confronted with a horrific reality check on the nature of our deadly homicide spike.
A tragic reminder:
The Kansas City murder count is never confined to the urban core as violence, mayhem and lawlessness always find a way to spread beyond the confines of any single neighborhood. Tonight, the local quotient of killing and its devastating consequences reach far beyond the inner-city and impact a young family just starting out.
"A sub-contractor working on a project for Spire Energy was shot and killed Tuesday by a man who witnesses said asked for a cigarette.
"Co-workers said 23-year-old Johnathon Porter had it all -- a new baby with his girlfriend and a new job to support his young family. Porter worked for InfraSource, contracted by Spire to work on a gas line replacement project going on throughout Kansas City."
