KANSAS CITY, Mo. - People in the community are calling for the city to clean up Brush Creek. Areas around Troost Avenue and Cleveland Avenue are littered with everything from Styrofoam cups to plastic bottles and soccer balls. Craig Smith said, "The feeling is... it's almost degrading."
Of course it is a dump. Who lives around there?

One can guess where it’s coming from, those people that live around there treat it like it’s their personal dumping grounds, just awful

ReplyDeleteWell if people want to live like rats in a dumpster, let them. I say leave the trash alone, they know it will be picked up by other people that's why they do it. I've seen them pull up to the corner of Harrison and Armour and deliberately put their fast food trash on the street walk up to the Bainbridge and come back and drive off. The reason they didn't take their trash to the Bainbridge and throw it away is because they love doing this kind of stuff for spite.

ReplyDeleteThey gave $50 million (with interest) in tax payer money to the convention hotel developers. They allowed the city manager to push this through WITHOUT vetting the development team.
This is the council that allowed the city manager to meet privately at a private club with a local business to create a non-compete $1.2 Billion airport terminal deal. Later the council allowed the city manager to propose a SWISS CHEESE (free response) to the local Burns & Mac.
I have never seen anything so CORRUPT. The audacity of it all.
Don't expect the council to get the MLK thing right. Those 6 or 7 attorneys are an embarrassment to their legal profession. Especially that Quinton Lucas who so proudly teaches contract law. Every student in his class should be warned how stupid he is. He couldn't lawyer his way out of a wet paper bag. He certainly couldn't even read a city contract and find the huge gaping holes and corruption. What a disappointment.
Of course he won't get involved or speak to anyone unless he sees a way to leverage his black constituents and pander for their votes.
