TKC TOLD YOU SO!!! KANSAS CITY MAYOR SLY 'STATE OF THE CITY' FLOPS AMID DEVELOPMENT DOUBLE DOWN AND NO DEETS ON ANTI-CRIME EFFORTS!!!
Just as KICK-ASS KANSAS CITY INSIDERS predicted, Mayor Sly spent most of today bragging about development and only gave THE CURRENT DEADLY KCMO CRIME SPIKE passing mention.

A big focus of the mayor’s speech was on rebuilding the city from the ground up. He touted the voter-approved $800 million in GO bond funding and the many projects now getting underway to improve infrastructure from sidewalks to streets, bridges and flood control. And of course, he highlighted another huge voter-approved measure: a new single terminal KCI.
He’s hoping that trend continues with upcoming voter approvals for expanding the streetcar line and extending a 1 percent sales tax that pays for neighborhood projects citywide and would help finance a new Buck O’Neil Bridge.
But the mayor didn’t shy away from some of the city’s challenges, including expanding opportunity to struggling sectors of the community.
He also said 2018 must be the year Kansas City gets off the most dangerous cities list and noted it will take “all of us to make it happen.”
Again, there was absolutely no detail provided on how he intends to accomplish that bold statement.
After more than 6 years it's clear that Mayor Sly's "development trickle down strategy" doesn't work. Meanwhile, the begging for increased taxpayer subsidy continues.

Like it or not . . . THERE IS NO PLAN TO ADDRESS CRIME that's being shared with the public the only thing in writing on the table for local voters is more taxes.

ReplyDelete^^^ I think most people think the same thing and it's not just about whites. Sly's legacy has been corrupting the vote and making elections more about money than any other political leader in KC history. At least since the depression era.

Way more than 150 murders actually. Over the past few years the bodies just keep piling up but the mayor does't have any real plan. There was a bit of progress when NOVA first started by that was mostly the police and prosecutor with little to no assistance from Sly.

ReplyDeleteI think if Mayor Sly James presented a comprehensive anti-crime plan most of the people on this blog would wine about him trying to do the job of the police. In his speech, if any of you actually listened to or read it or follow the Mayor's Twitter, you'll see that he is empowering other leaders like the police chief to do their job.
The Mayor is one of the best leaders KC has ever seen and under his leadership we have built up amazing momentum to make our city one of the best in the world. Not only is the criticism unfair but it neglects to mention so many good things happening in our town right now and that isn't just detriment to the discussion of KC but it causes people to lose out on our progress.
