Once again, and quite predictably this time around, March Madness ends in depression for fans of Kansas basketball.
Here's a few of the best articles recapping the anti-climax . . .

Melancholy Fanboy Aftermath
Villanova knocks Kansas out at the Final Four
"The road ends here," the Final Four slogan goes. Those four words plastered all over the River Walk and surrounding areas, including The Alamodome, site of the NCAA Tournament semifinals, proved true for Kansas on Saturday night.
Rock Chalk Postscript
Villanova Rolls Over Kansas to Reach Its Second N.C.A.A. Final in Three Years
SAN ANTONIO - Villanova will play for its second N.C.A.A. men's basketball championship in three years after defeating Kansas, 95-79, in the national semifinals on Saturday at the Alamodome. It was a battle between two No. 1 seeds - a surprisingly conventional culmination of a bracket that had produced a dizzying amount of upsets, including a men's No.
And so . . .
We notice that fanboys are easily misled amid a stream of corporate sports reporting hype and so we're sharing few classic b-ball songs order to commiserate with our late night fellow insomniac shift worker pals. Take a look:
As always, thanks for reading this week and have a safe and fun Saturday night.
We'll get'em next season.
ReplyDeleteJust make sure you buy those season tickets!
Actually, it was closer than I expected.
DeleteThe best part is that Bill Self gets paid more than any other state employee in Kansas win or lose. Think about for awhile when we talk about cutting the education budget.
Some how I'm sure this is Hillary Trump's fault.
DeleteVillanova was always the odds on favorite. Really surprise that very few of the sports talk stations in KC made much of it. I guess guy's like St. John did try to remind us that KU has already outperformed expectations. But it was a Cinderella season to get to this point and actually does set them up in a better position next year. Thanks for posting the snark T, but it's not really a depression for KU fans. They're actually pretty hopeful.
ReplyDeleteNow is the time to rush to mass st. and offer some consolation.
ReplyDeleteLow standards for state schools have always been the working man's friend!
^^^ Ew.
ReplyDeleteWhat is wrong with you people?
ReplyDeleteWhy are you "hating" on KU?

I hope we can watch highlights for a week. Great game.
ReplyDeleteKU is for pussies. Always has been. Think of anyone you know who went to KU... total puss.
ReplyDeleteKU is for winners! Love it!
ReplyDeleteVillanova filled more baskets than the Easter Bunny. Rock Shock K.U.
ReplyDeleteNobody was going to beat Villanova last night. Great season KU.
ReplyDelete18 - 3 point shots made against you is very hard to overcome. They played good ball but was just a little shy in the end.
ReplyDeleteIf half of Villanova 3 pointers had not been but 2 pointers KU would have won based on final score. Still a good game and when you make it to the final four it proves you are a force to be reckoned with.
maths not your strong suit
DeleteKU didn't make it to the Finals!
ReplyDeleteLeaves me wondering how much the KC Taxpayers will have to pony up bailing the P&L District out this year.
Love how this blog doesn't say shit about KU's season, then craps all over them when they have a bad night!
ReplyDeleteWhere was TKC when they set an NCAA record fourteen conference championships?
Or when they won the Big 12 tournament?
Or got a #1 seed in the NCAA tournament?
Or made it to the Final Four?
That's become the tone of what used to be a damn good blog. Really sad!
