TKC MUST SEE!!! WITNESS 'TROLLEY GRAVEYARD' AMID CORRUPT KANSAS CITY TOY TRAIN STREETCAR RIGGED ELECTION!!!

One of our favorite readers sent this link and asked . . . Maybe this is where Kansas City's "toy trains" will go to die??

Take a look:

Photographer Matthew Christopher visits a trolley graveyard, where a once-popular form of urban transportation is now another scene of American attrition.

Meanwhile . . .

Credit to some local news agencies who have rejected rail transit hype amid declining streetcar numbers . . .

"Kansas City voters last fall passed a mandate saying the city cannot expand the streetcar without a citywide vote – but the Streetcar Authority is moving forward with this election anyways."

There's currently a rigged "election" underway that is totally gerrymandered and one of the best examples of local government corruption Kansas City has to offer.

The official ballot application is available online via the 16th Circuit Court of Jackson County but political consultants powered by hackers are attempting to mislead the electorate and garner voter information by way of alternate voting websites in an exceptionally sketchy move.

In the end, the only saving grace is that federal funding for the streetcar has been hard to come by whilst corrupt local electioneering is the preferred route for local politics.

  1. The streetcar was broken down most of this winter. Don't know why people would keep on voting for that.

    1. The answer is easy.

      MONEY

Lawyers, consultants and engineering firms are depending on taxpayer funding of their businesses and they don't care if voters have consistently said NO. It's outright theft but In KC a few campaign donations buys immunity from any white collar crime prosecution.

    2. ^^^ Sad but true. It's always smarter and more effective to rob people with a pen.

  2. But it's all about "momentum" right? I guess that's also what justifies the tax breaks for hotels and luxury apartments. But anybody who wants to drive a car in KCmo is going to risk getting more tickets in order to pay for all of this borrowing.

It doesn't seem like a great plan.

  5. The election is being administered according to state law and it's rigged and gerrymandered?

Well change the law, little man Tony! You get right on that and report back.

  7. If we have so much extra money why don’t we use it on things we really need like anything outside the downtown loop. Maybe if king sLIE can venture out where the commoners are maybe he will see we need things like massive street and bridge repairs. But that would require his 400lb self to leave the comfy confines of downtown, well, I guess I just answered my own question.

  8. that streetcar site collecting names borders on something pretty horrible and it's going to cost them the election and any progress in the streetcar for the future.

A shame because a lot of what's happening around the line is pretty good.

  9. White people think they're too good to ride a bus and they want their streetcar extension to UMKC. It will happen regardless of any vote.

  10. The total cost of streetcar expansion is expected to be around $220 million.

So they are using cost estimates from five years ago?

    LOL
