Aid cut for 1,200 Missouri seniors, people with disabilities

More than 1,200 Missouri seniors and people with disabilities have lost in-home care services following a budget cut last year. Data from the state Department of Health and Senior Services provided to The Associated Press on Friday show roughly 1,254 people were cut off from those services. Funding cuts last year triggered more stringent eligibility requirements for aid for the elderly and disabled.

  3. There's only so much money to go around. In this case, I believe the choice came down to additional money for elementary and post secondary schools, or in-home care. It was a no-win situation. Choose one, you get yelled at; choose the other, you still get yelled at.

  5. I've got no problem with government austerity but look at Missouri giving away millions upon millions to corporations and you'll see how wrong it is to approve this kind of legislation. .
