A WESTSIDE/CROSSROADS COMMUNITY MEETING ADDRESSED THE GROWING NUMBER OF RECENT PURSE SNATCHINGS TARGETING OLD SCHOOL LADIES IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD!!!
Apparently, a beloved Midtown denizen was attacked and robbed on a walk of less than a block to a local community center - She has suffered minor bruises & scrapes but her mugging reveals the brazen ruthlessness of local crooks and the Westside CAN Center is working to prevent more incidents by helping to spread the word.
Add this heartless robbery to growing car crime and property theft reported in the aftermath of 1st Friday and we're starting to see a trend . . .
Low-rent local crooks are also aware of influx of new money to the Westside/Crossroads and they're stepping up attacks against residents who seem like easy prey or who might have their guard down.
This uptick in crime contradicts otherwise hopeful hype that touts luxury urban core development but downplays the risk inherent in living within a community that hosts a wide range of economic stratification, public housing nearby and the ongoing deadly crime spike that impacts every aspect of local life.

Yes, the "lower" crossroads can be a sh#thole but that's only because we need to move more of the residents out of the area. Gentrification is working!
