Fact Check: Jackson County Legislator Crystal Williams Argues Against Her Ineffectiveness
A recent screed on transparency from a leading feminist politico inspires a glimpse her lackluster reputation in terms of keeping promises.
For those who haven't read it already, here's a glimpse of the missive published by the newspaper . . .
Crystal Williams: Jackson County voters are being left in the dark
The argument for transparency is nice but it overlooks the failings of this courthouse denizen . . .
- When she first weaseled her way into office, Legislator Williams promised an interactive web page or at least an opportunity for online feedback on the County budget. Almost a decade later there's only a pathetic PDF collection of dusty old dox online and very little new tech designed to get people involved in the process.
- What Legislator Crystal Williams reveals is that she is on the OUTSIDE of the charter reform process. Her notorious ability to alienate political colleagues has once again thwarted her constituents and has her engaged in yet another nasty public dispute.
- She's actually FIGHTING FOR HER OWN JOB IN WHAT SHOULD BE DESCRIBED AS SELF-PRESERVATION AND NOT ADVOCACY . . . Notice how she doesn't really get into proposed salary increases where she stands to benefit by way of tens of thousands of dollars.
Sadly, the fading local dead-tree media institution has offered her space not out of any real concern over policy or because Mike "Why Can't I Retire???" Hendricks has mostly given up on reporting BUT seemingly out of respect for her "progressive" gender identify politics that seems to align with most of the content from the editorial board as the newspaper struggles to maintain relevance.
