TKC TOLD YOU SO!!! KANSAS CITY CHIEFS TRADE CONTROVERSIAL MARCUS PETERS!!!

Friday is for firings and right now Kansas City sports fans are SHOCKED by a move that insiders saw coming a mile away . . .

THE KANSAS CITY CHIEFS TRADE MARCUS PETERS A SEASON OF NATIONAL ANTHEM PROTEST!!!

Roundup . . .

"Despite his talent on the football field, the Chiefs had reportedly become disenchanted by his behavior. The team suspended the 25-year-old corner for one game last season for his actions during and after a loss to the New York Jets -- when he famously tossed a referee flag after the play, then left the field without being ejected."

What's important here is that so many downplayed trade talk as Internets chatter right up until this afternoon. Also, the trade isn't great on paper but many think Mr. Peters was toxic for the team and didn't fit in well the "personality" of the Chiefs and coach Andy Reid.

Credit to Arrowhead Pride for pressing this story locally and more than any MSM sports newsie . . . Check the links . . .

ESPN: Rams agree to trade for Chiefs cornerback Marcus Peters

SI: Ian Rapoport of NFL.com reports the Rams will be sending "a package of draft picks" in exchange for Peters, the No. 18 pick in the 2015 draft.

NFL.Com: Trading a player of Peters' caliber, who can be under contract for a bargain rate for the next two seasons -- $1.8 million in 2018, team fifth-year option in 2019 -- is almost unheard of in the NFL.

  1. Possibly one of the best trades KC has ever made.

Credit should actually go to Clark Hunt. He finally manned up. Peters overshadowed what could've been a great season when you consider the fact that the Chiefs beat both of the teams in the Super Bowl.

    1. The trade TOTALLY makes sense on paper. Peters was poisonous. KC would've gone much further in the playoffs without his antics.

    2. Good riddance.

  2. Actually, I think a lot of the REAL fans don't like the trade. Does this put us in a better situation to win next season? Not really. The move was political not based on football.

    1. There is no football if the fans turn away.

  3. Watch the Rams go to the goddamn Superbowl next year while Peters has a breakout season.

  4. Excellent point!

  5. Los Angeles is a much better place for all Peters' drama and acting out.
Who knows? Maybe next year he can show up at the Oscars and make a fool of himself.
    Again!

    1. Absolutely agree with @4:33 - The "culture" of Los Angeles will suit him far better than KC. He only had one or two good seasons left anyway. KC made a tough move but a smart move.

  6. I would rather have seen him traded to a shithole like Cleveland or Buffalo but am just glad he’s gone.

  7. KC doesn't need him. The secondary is strong and will be even stronger next year. He was a corrosive player and his protests cost the team far more he benefited the organization. When it was time to play in the clutch he was just angry and only provided costly penalties. This might be the biggest improvement the team has seen in years and it's about time the front office was serious about winning. It's the right move.

    1. You’re crazy if you think our secondary is good. They are the weakest part of our very worthless defense.

  8. 4:44 thanks for proving you know nothing about football. The defense sucked. No pass rush and the pass defense sucked too. It sucked so much most people thought Bob Sutton would be fired. True #1 corners are very difficult to come by. Do you guys understand Peters is exceptionally good at covering and if his next 8 years are like his last 3 he's going to the Hall of Fame? Whatever the Chiefs get in return better be outstanding to compensate for lettingone of the top 3 corners in the league go. Andy Reid drafted the guy, he should have been well aware of any problems he might have from him. I know, I know, he kneels during a song!!! Where are all you when Congress slashes funds for veterans every single chance they get? Why dont you care about that? But no, get all upset over a black guy kneeling during a song. He only impacts your life if you let him. Congress fucks this country on a hourly basis but not a word out of most of you. Enjoy watching Peters in the Pro Bowl the next few years and possibly the Super Bowl. The Rams are a hell of a lot closer than the Chiefs and they took a giant step today

  9. ^^^^ but can he tackle, no, and not be a cancer in the locker room....... not no, but hell no

  10. 5:18 you really are a dumb ass if you think this is about kneeling, Clarkie boy let him do that or he wouldn’t have done it at all, there is way more to this then your casual football skills allow

  11. The whole team needs an overhaul. Getting rid of Peters & Smith is a great start. Forget politics, it's about winning.

    Great move for KC!

  12. The ghost of Hank Stram's toupee2/23/18, 6:48 PM

He was overrated. An early season winner and late season loser and crybaby. Great job getting him out of there, there's no room for crying in football. And put your damn shoes on when you step on the field of play!

  13. A lot of fuss for a team that's going to be 8-8 next year.

  14. ^^^ Hater. The Chiefs won their division this year and are likely to do the same next year. Get a grip and get on the right team. Don't be a worthless Broncos fan.

  21. A lot more people in LA like peters.

    ReplyDelete
  22. An all or nothing type of guy. This change will make him a hall of famer or arrested, jailed, or gone.........

    ReplyDelete
  23. The Chiefs will be alright without Peters. They will have another mediocre year just like the last 48 years.
And they have to make room on the roster for the guy that had cancer and only plays every other year.....what was his name?
As for Peters he was corrosive to fans and players alike.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Give the Chiefs to Omaha or Des Moines as a goodwill gesture and bring in polo or lacrosse.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Anybody know what kind of picks we got in return?
