TKC TOLD YOU SO!!! KANSAS CITY ANTIFA SHUTS DOWN RIOT ROOM TAAKE SHOW UNDER THREAT OF VIOLENT PROTEST!!!
A musical culture war story STARTED on TKC and then resonated across the Kansas City and the nation.
To wit . . .
JUST AS OUR BLOG COMMUNITY PREDICTED: KANSAS CITY ANTIFA SHUT DOWN THE TAAKE RIOT ROOM SHOW!!!
Given a 2007 swatstika performance and song lyrics that many describe as "anti-Muslim" - Taake and venues hosting their tour have been under pressure nationally and Kansas City ANTIFA opposition is just part of the pushback from radical left-wing organizations.
The riot room statement today:
"We have decided to cancel the Taake event scheduled to be held March 31st at The Riot Room. Refunds will be processed immediately for anyone who purchased tickets. As a venue, it is our priority to provide a safe, inclusive, and enjoyable environment for all patrons, artists, and staff. This always has, and will always continue to be our primary goal."
Here's one of many threats from a Kansas City ANTIFA . . .
"Come out on Saturday, March 31 at 7 p.m. to the Riot Room, prepared with masks, sticks, shields, and whatever else you might need to make Taake, their fans and enablers fear for their safety. Enough with nazi metal bands, enough with the Riot Room and their nazi apologia. Death to fascists!"
Don't get too worked up . . . The absence of death metal in Westport isn't really a great loss because it's no longer 1998. Also, a lot of the conversation online is comprised mostly of false flags and fake Internets tough guys.
More to the point . . .
Rapper Talib Kweli played the controversy masterfully with his cancellation of a Riot Room appearance and earned a great deal of enthusiastic coverage amid the culture war ruckus.
Meanwhile, Westport is the focus of yet another divisive debate that makes local biz owners seem incompetent and unable to cope with increasingly diverse crowds.
