On this Sunday night we finish with this insightful take on recent hot mess scandal with one of the top commenters from our blog community. Checkit:
Super Dave Seyz Elected Officials Are Innocent Until Proven Guilty Despite MSM Coverage
America is in the midst of a political turmoil and everybody appears to be hungry or angry to impeach somebody. Democrats are fighting Republicans and those two are busy fighting everybody else. Then to top it off we have a Kansas City Kansas politician and a Missouri state governor both facing some sort of criminal charges while still in office.
Anybody charged with a crime in the United States is allotted a chance to be heard before a court of law in a trial with a jury to determine whether the parties are guilty or innocent. Nowhere that I know of is a law written that demands a person forfeit their job or position simply based upon they have been charged with a crime. This is where the saying "innocent until proven guilty" should be the focus of not only the media but every other organization. The media is not a court of law and the media should not be acting as a court of law by using their influence to persuade the people of this country to believe what they are saying as being the gospel truth. But many times the gospel truth doesn’t come out in a trial either.
A grand jury indictment is often used by prosecutors to get people charged with a crime that they might have difficulty in doing otherwise. Grand jury trials are not always impartial they are not always held in an impartial way. It is a closed to the public and unless the defendant is a witness they are not allowed to give any testimony. So in some ways a grand jury can be rather one-sided but allows a prosecutor to throw some stuff out there and see if nine people think there is enough reason to make an indictment. But it is by no means a proven charge of guilt. I have been reading statements all over the place by people stating the party is guilty because the grand jury made a recommendation of an indictment. That is pure crap that’s totally incorrect and just further proof that people continuously let the media think for them.
Just what is going on in Kansas City Kansas, Wyandotte County Commissioner Ann Brandau-Murguia’s case is still being held tight as far as information being released. All we know right now is the charges which usually result from some sort of domestic altercation. We’ve all seen the booking picture of Ann Brandau-Murguia’s with what appears to be an injury to her nose. One thing I’ve noticed is that there has not been a huge calling for her to resign or any legal actions being initiated to remove her from office. In fact this whole case is earning very low key coverage in the media, in my opinion, compared to some others. Is it because she is a woman or is it because it has to do with Wyandotte County and nobody cares what goes on over there? Either way, to me, it is an important case because we cannot have our elected officials allegedly getting into fisticuffs or possibly involved in liaisons that are detrimental to the operation of the government of which they are elected while in office. As I have said, in my opinion, this will be the more interesting of the two cases affecting the Kansas City area.
Then we come to the case of Missouri Governor Eric Greitens. The man admits to having an affair before he was in office. Now while having an affair isn’t in itself a criminal proceeding it does lead one to question a person’s moral character. Now if this person’s moral character was so important to question why wasn’t it not questioned or this affair brought to light before Eric Greitens was elected to office? In fact, in this case the lady is not even the person pointing the finger. The story was started by another male in her life. Is this something that became known and there is a political reasoning for pushing this into the limelight making it into something it really wasn’t? I’m sure there’s a reason for pushing it like this. Eric Greitens lost big time in the St. Louis area for sure and St. Louis County is the same county that put on this so-called grand jury looking for an indictment. Makes you wonder how impartial that Grand Jury was . . .?
These are the kind of things that will come forth in a trial. The governor is entitled to a fair trial even if it happens while he’s in office. He has lawyers to handle the legal action and the voters do have the right to see a fair trial take place here where the facts are brought out and where the facts become record in a public court for all to see. All of these people yelling for impeachment, yelling for Eric Greitens to be thrown out of office are the first people who would be screaming bloody murder if the same were to be done to them if they were charged in a criminal action. The governor is afforded a fair trial, has a right to a fair trial and should not be judged as guilty or removed from his position or posts until he has had his day in court and is found innocent or guilty. If a change of venue is needed in this case then it should be allowed because this is a very important case one that will affect more people than most people realize. The truth has to come out and be made public before the state of Missouri can even begin to move on.
If the state of Missouri is so concerned with cleaning up its political houses they have time and time again proven that isn’t the case. There have been several incidents in the past few years that should have led to the removal of certain people from their political positions. As in many times if not most times a slap on the wrist was the only sanction given. You can’t attempt to discredit or remove a person from being in office for something they did before being in office while allowing those who do similar or worse actions to remain in office. They say justice is supposed to be blind but in Missouri as in most states or in this country for the most part it isn’t.

Very nice real world commentary Dave. A lot of people want to give the media the power to take our rights away and this post reminds us that's a bad idea.
ReplyDeleteHe is innocent until proven guilty which means he shouldnt go to jail until he has been judged but lose his job? Absolutely. We can't possibly wait until a guilty verdict months or years down the line. The governor has not been merely accused of a crime. He has been charged with one.
ReplyDeleteCould you imagine if we had elected officials CHARGED with domestic violence, sexual assault, murder, fraud etc and just let them stay in office while they are in court? You are pretty much holding the business of the state hostage while he tries to adjudicate the issue. No politician would chance aligning themselves with someone charged with these kind of crimes. The attack ad writes itself should he be convicted. The public isn't going to see "Representative Dave just really believes in waiting for a verdict" they are going to see "Representative Dave stood with a felon convicted a sex crime".
That innocent til proven guilty shit is only for the courtroom. Greitens got to go.
"Charged" is the same as accused.
DeleteYour last two lines tell us all we need to know.
It's cute seeing the greitens shills come out swinging on this. Sad.
ReplyDeleteHey Captain Obvious, I mean Dave Larson, you wasted six hours writing something that states NOTHING.
ReplyDeleteMost Democrats live in fear that their unsatisfied slut wives will go out and get fucked by a real man like Greitens, and that they will be publicly humiliated.
ReplyDeleteYou have to understand the Evangelical/Alt-Right mindset.
ReplyDeleteThey bought into these con men who wrap themselves in the Flag and Waive a Bible. They think that they are seeing substance and "righteousness", when what they are being shown is no more real that an airbrushed Playboy Centerfold.
But their own sense of self-importance, plus a fear that they are really gullible, forces them to continue to defend these illusions, because admitting that they made a mistake is not something they have the courage to do.
10:13 I agree. It's bizarre watching the "family values" crowd shed their morals for anything with an (R) next to the name when the gop has elevated cheats, adulterous lechers, people who cavort with prostitutes, and habitual liars among their ranks. When did values and morals only come out for Sunday service?
DeleteIs Super Dave paid per word? Is that why his post went on forever? I simply could not read it all.
ReplyDelete^^^^^Is that why you didn't graduate from school fool? The books of knowledge were just too long to read and learn something from?
ReplyDeleteReddit pays a penny a word. Super Dave stole Byron's old job as a troll.
ReplyDeleteI'm for due process.
ReplyDeleteAll the women that Trump groped should be allowed to testify before Congress to establish how many times the current President has sexually assaulted women.
We need an answer and then appropriate punishment.
Yeah, okay, but Hollyweird's hogging the stage with so much #MeToo right about now. The ick factor is rising fast with more accounts of PEDOS preying on boys as often as they preyed on girls.
Delete9:24 I hope you're never charged with a crime and further hope your place of employment does not fire you using the excuse that you're already guilty and won't be capable of handling the affairs of your employment because of it. You would sue your employer as fast as you could get an attorney like Lynne Bratcher to file the paperwork.
ReplyDeleteAnd if you were innocent oh mercy me would that ever be wrong for you to be treated as a common convicted felon.
Governor Duct Tape will get his day in court. Due process in the court system to determine if he committed a felony will play out by the rule of law. That's not even an issue.
ReplyDeleteKeeping his job is a separate issue. We don't need a verdict before making a judgement about him being fit to serve effectively.
The cost of the MO House investigation, the AG investigation, the debate about impeachment - it's not worth it. Nothing will get done in Jeff City while this plays out. Instead, the Lt Gov could step in and get back to the work of Missourians.
Remember, Al Franken left before his due process to the cheers of the GOP.
Time to go.
Franken was guilty that is why he quit plus he had repeated accusations of which there were pictures and eye witnesses. In the end this will come out to be nothing more than a smear campaign by a group of Democrats who are the ones that should be forced out of office.
ReplyDelete^^^ Wrong. Franken respectfully denied claims of harassment. He resigned because he felt he couldn't effectively do his job while waiting for a senate hearing that would exonerate him. The exact same environment Greiten is facing.
ReplyDeleteThere were only individual accusations of harassment against Franken putting his arm around women when taking a public photo. Nothing filed in court. No crime in any accusation.
But if your standard of guilt is a picture of a mocking air grope over a fully clothed woman with a bullet proof vest, OK.
By that standard, Governor Bound Nude Woman Photo will get him an electric chair in the gas chamber. He should have been gone months ago.
10:13 Greitens is not an Evangelical.
ReplyDeleteNot even close.
But what was the alternative? KOSTER? LOL! No problems there were there?
Super Dave is correct.
ReplyDeleteThis guy, is deep into Jeff City politics. If you want to know everything out there in the weeds about the Guv, here it is.

What Dave says here and from the looks of things most of you are missing is this. If certain political powers want you out or charged with something you're toast for the most part. Difference between Franken and Greitens is that word consensual. Franken had many accusations while Greitens has one and the woman in question isn't who brought on the complaint. Many women stepped forward against Franken. She had more than ample time to file a report before he was elected but didn't. Dave is right, people have rights and a right to face an accuser in a court of law same as you and I. Any bets that as soon as Greitens were to leave office if he does the charges will all of a sudden be dismissed. A taxpayer has a right to see justice done no matter the cost against a public official and said offical shouldn't have to quit their position to prove their innocence. If they are guilty that's a different story and that would then mean removal for sure. This piece written here is a real eye opener of how fucked up our political and justice system has become. Those wanting to lynch Greitens I hope someday face charges and get railroaded into a conviction of some sort when they know they are innocent only because the media and their enemies made it happen.
ReplyDeleteThese charges were not the result of a formal complaint by a victim. They were the result of a political maneuver where a single person, Democratic prosecutor, presented her case against the governor with no options for the gov to dispute the claims at any level. This entire charade was a political ploy designed to destroy the Governor. Anyone with a lick of sense knows damn well he will never be convicted of a felony. Anyone with a lick of sense knows that hundreds, if not thousands, of people take naughty photos.
ReplyDeleteThere is not a lick of evidence that the governor shared the alleged photo with anyone and using the computer element to make the case a felony is a farce. After all calling a cell phone a computer to conjour up a felony when it is the same device used to take photos is such a fucking stretch it is simply incredible. The degree of bias and shenanigans surrounding this dog and pony show is just off the charts. I bet not a single citizen in this state would ever want to be held to this bogus standard. This is a perfect example of a prosecutor being able to indict a ham sandwich in a grand jury.
This is just another example of a political party that is so arrogant and bitter that they believe they have the power to overthrow an election by any means. The rules are just not good enough for them and only apply when things go their way. This is the kind of crap you expect from boons in some fucking banana republic somewhere.
Just wondering, 10:41,
ReplyDeleteHow long is a lick of sense.
Since you used it three times...
^^^^^^^Ummmmmm Tracy was only twice so it appears like many others in here you can't read either.
ReplyDeleteoh sorry, the third overuse of one metaphor was a "lick of evidence"...
ReplyDeleteYou're boring the readers... mix it up, will ya? And sign your work. It doesn't take any longer, just use Name/URL, make up something clever, no need to document, still untraceable.
^^^^^^^^^^Plain to see does not have a single lick of sense
ReplyDeleteSensational!
ReplyDeleteMakes sense to me!
You are the winner of this thread.

Jesus Stupid Dave, holding public office means being responsible for the the public trust. Innocent until proven guilty means something else entirely dipshit. Would you continue to employ an accountant at your company who had been indicted on embezzlement charges? You wouldn't would you?
ReplyDelete^^^^^^Holding public office also means you should be free of political attacks from your opponents. So far all you have done is attack Dave while not showing any evidence you're right.
ReplyDeleteOh by the way, I think your a pedofile who creeps around on the internet looking for kids to fondle. Or do you hang at at the local kids pizza joint hoping to score? There I just gave enough evidence to have you indicted and charged with such, how do you like those apples dipshit?
Hey Dave, we attack you because you’re a dipshit. Tony let’s you write a few posts because he knows it’s funny, and there will be a lot of people like me who think you’re dumb as shit!
ReplyDelete^^^^^^ FTW^^^^^^^^ Stupor Dave is dumb as a rock. Tony is desperate for clicks.
ReplyDeleteAre phones covered by the FCC. Is transferance by telephone a FEDERAL deal. Might explain why the FBI is snoping around.
