Overland Park Golden Ghetto Suicidal Teen Shot Dead By Police: Justified

Ruling on a controversial officer-involved shooting wherein a distraught youngster allegedly aimed a car at police . . . Here's the aftermath:

Fatal Overland Park police shooting of 17-year-old John Albers justified, authorities say

Authorities say a fatal police shooting in Overland Park was justified. Johnson County District Attorney Steve Howe and Overland Park Police Chief Frank Donchez announced Tuesday that no charges will be filed against officers involved in the Jan. 20 shooting of 17-year-old John Albers. Albers was fatally shot by Overland Park police on Jan.

  1. No kidding. Anybody surprised?

  2. It's certainly convenient the OP police kept the video out of public viewing until the officer was cleared.

The pressure to charge him would have been overwhelming if the public saw it.

After watching the footage, it's clear there was no reason to shoot this kid.

Cops currently have a license to kill. There is never criminal punishment for their actions. This has to change. None of us are safe from a cop. Even when you comply (Wichita & Independence), you get shot.

    1. ^^^Why, your stupid President has set the anti-cop agenda with his bashing of the FBI?

    2. My gawd, is the liberal mind that far dissociated with reality? obuma was the most anti cop president we've ever had. The president with blood on his hands for agitating the violent black fascists to assassinate and murder cops all over the country. Trump and the crooked ass FBI have little to nothing to do with local police forces. That's just your mental disorder (T.D.S) slipping out.

  4. 6:30 maybe someday someone will try and run over you and will succeed. If you could then look back on it I'm sure you would have wished you would have had a gun to protect yourself with.

  5. ^^^ You are in denial. You could be next.

I'm only anti-cop shooting innocent people with no justification.

Yelling "Oh shut the hell and up"(sic) is not a persuasive argument.

  7. They sure as hell didn't need to kill the kid. It was a crappy shoot.

  9. State sanction murder is always justified by the State. That's why legitimate authority comes into question?

  10. Cops don't get paid much.

You get what you pay for.

Fact: Dumb people are attracted to law enforcement. So are bullied pussies and those with anger issues.

  11. Unless you are standing right next to the cop, you cannot make the call on if the cop made the right split second decision of his action.

So i guess it would have been OK for this kid to run over and injure a cop or god forbid one the the neighbors who came out to see all the fuss. And WTH the cop resigned his position with the police department.
I don't need to watch the video. Have some trust in the cops. They are here to protect us.

  12. Cops investigate cops and...imagine that, they clear the cop for killing a kid. What's the ratio of "justified shootings" vs not justified shootings? 1,000,000,000 to 1? That's great odds. The house always wins.

  14. 7:07,You're stupid and you don't know it, that's your problem. You talk, talk, talk, all the time. No one wants to listen to an idiot.

  15. @7:34, watch the video before you comment.

The cop sidestepped & avoided the van and was not in danger of being hit. He could have easily emptied his revolver into the tire directly in front of his and stopped the van. Shooting a driver only ensures the vehicle becomes out of control and doesn't disable a vehicle.

Instead, the cop waited until the teen had backed up and was directly in point blank range, then emptied his gun. This cop had no business being issued a gun in the first place.

Remember, the cops were called to a residential neighborhood to help a teen that was reported to be a danger to himself. They weren't responding to an armed bank robbery or an armed rapist that just attacked someone. They could have easily killed a bystander in addition to the teen.

I feel sorry for the cop too. He has to live with killing someone unnecessarily. I don't feel sorry for a city and police department that either trained him to be this aggressive or didn't train him at all. The department can't be allowed to whitewash criminally negligent or abusive law enforcement actions.

Once again the police learn there is no consequences for shooting anyone. They can always get away with it.

    1. I wouldn't feel too bad for the cop. I've known a couple who were legitimate sociopaths, in a shoot like this, I'd say the cop fits the bill.
