The struggle of a highly educated dad and researcher ensnared in an immigration debate has captured the hearts and minds of locals.
Take a look:
Fox4: Hundreds join letter writing campaign to stop deportation of Park University professor
Deets:
An estimated 600 people showed up at houses of worship like this one today to write letters to government leaders trying to urge them to grant a stay of removal for his father so he can stay in the United States with his family.
An online petition to keep Syed in the US calls him a "well-respected Molecular Biologist" who has done research for the University of Kansas, Children's Mercy, Rockhurst University, and other entities.
As of this writing 13,909 have signed the petition so far . . .
Developing . . .
Why didn't he try to become a citizen?
ReplyDeleteThere is more to this story than in being told.
It may even be Fake News designed to encourage illegals.
"There is more to this story than in (sic) being told."
ReplyDeleteThen please enlighten us, oh follower of Fox News. Inquiring minds want to know!
7:47 Shut up idiot
ReplyDeleteDeport him. Don’t let him back.
ReplyDeleteHe decided he wouldn’t obey the law. We decided he will obey the law.
ReplyDeleteHe knew what he was supposed to do for thirty years to become legal, had your chance, muffed it, fuck him and the horse he rode in on. Why is he allowed to break the law with no punishment when Americans go to jail everyday for less offenses? Why do progressives have shit fits for illegals but could care less about real Americans???
ReplyDeleteThe petition states he is a LEADER of the Islamic Center of Lawrence. Here is a picture of Khalid Yasin in the Islamic Center of Lawrence....... If he indeed is some great leader we need in the country he would not be a member of a Mosque run by Muslim Brotherhood affiliates and hate preachers. Yes, the story is sad, we now have more kids being raised no doubt to accept the likes of Khalid Yasin! Morons. See picture of Khalid Yasin with Lawrence Imam Bassam Helwani and KC Imam Yahya Furqan. Sad day indeed.

Oooooh! There's so much envy on this site today.
ReplyDeleteHe's successful, so we must deport him. We envy successful people. They remind us we're total fuckups. They must be eliminated.
Yeah, but your failure of a life kind of balances it all out, so it’s all good. Thanks for being such a fucked up lose, it’s makes me feel better.
DeleteAhhhh 13,999 people have confirmed what idiots they are. If they had an issue with the law do they really think this so call smart ass clown would lift a finger to help them in anyway? Deport his ass he knew the law and ignored it. Also I'd kind of like to know how many of the 14k who signed it are illegal as well?
ReplyDeleteThis guy simply refused to leave when his last visa expired. He must have been aware from then to now that he was at risk for deportation (his wife too), leaving his American citizen children without a father at home. I have no sympathy for him.
ReplyDeleteBangladesh could use a good molecular biologist.
ReplyDeleteHere is a FACT that 13,999 letter writers are ignoring:
ReplyDeleteHe "ran for school board in Lawrence in 2016".
Which is illegal, because...as he knew so well, he is not a US citizen, and thus, could not FILE for office nor could people vote for him. He could not even vote for himself.
Gosh, playing right into Kris Kobach's argument. What kind of narcissist wastes the time of the election board, by filing for office, when the laws are clear--he cannot run for office in the US.
And what did he expect? Praise?? Maybe after he thumbed his nose at our laws in 2011 by "overstaying his visa"--did he not expect ICE to someday say "enough is enough, your Muslim Arrogancy..."
Syed presents a positive story, but factually, it is based on pertinent lies.
Snowflake letter writers are using misplaced energy. CITIZENSHIP IS NOT A POPULARITY CONTEST--WE ARE NOT VOTING ON HOMECOMING KING.
We don't change the rules based on likeability, or you would have done that and BILL Clinton would be president for a third term.
Sorry Tracey, the only Presidents who realistically could have been elected to third terms were Eisenhower and Reagan.
ReplyDeleteWhich is ironic as all get out, since the GOP rammed the 22nd Amendment through, thereby assuring that these two Republican Presidents were term limited.
I fully expect the Right Wingnuts to start calling for repeal of the 22nd at any time now, so Little Benito can start raising money for his 2024 re-election campaign.
Oh, so he's Mussolini now? You guys crack me up. First Hitler, then Stalin, now Mussolini. The only thing you prove is your massive ignorance of history. Why not go ahead and call him Satan? It would put your hate in the superstitious category of ignorance where it belongs. ;)
DeletePol Pot next! Don't forget Ceaucescu!!
Idiot.
Totally agree, Tracy.
ReplyDeleteIf he were a roofer or gardener, I could see letting him stay. But a molecular biologist? C'mon. They're a dime a dozen. Who needs m'em?
It is not like he couldn't afford the citizenship process. He has some type of issue that we have not been told about.
ReplyDelete10:30: Maybe his McDonald's habit will take care of him before 2024.
ReplyDeleteIf he is so smart and such a nice man it only follows that like his four brothers in this country he would have filed for citizenship already. I have to agree with the majority that he is his own worst enemy in this matter. I don't think we limit applications for citizenship to only once in 30 years.
ReplyDeleteSay bye-bye USA and Hello Bangladesh!
Good points Tracy.
9:24 Tracy, that was so tremendous ! If you were here with me now, I would throw you down and ____ your little red ______ until you had to push me away--just so you could breathe !
ReplyDelete@ 1:22, I personally don't hate Him, I find him laughable, just like Mussolini. The posturing, the chin in the air, the posing, the overblown and inappropriate gesturing, the shallow thinking, the denial of his obesity, the impulsiveness, the serial infidelities, the denials of repeated career failures, all these and more remind me of the fraud perpetrated by the Inventor of Fascism.
ReplyDeleteHitler didn't have a rich Daddy to bail him out, Stalin had enough self confidence that he didn't have to chase anything in a skirt, Ceaucescu was shrewd, Pol Pot, while similarly unbalanced, was scary, not laughable.
As far as Satan, not a chance, Satan has substance!
As far as the word "Idiot" that you chose to use - to quote the Philosopher Pee Wee Herman, "I know you are, but what am I?"
