Hispanic Contractors Association joins Black Chamber in opposing Edgemoor

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Hispanic Contractors Association is adding its voice to opposition against Edgemoor, the company selected to build a new terminal at KCI. The group is calling on City Council to reject an updated agreement with the developer. It is expected to go up for a vote on Thursday.

  1. The way KCMO city government "works", the best thing to do at this point is just to try to sell the bonds, get $1.3 billion in small unmarked bills, dump the pile of money in the intersection of 12th and Oak, and get out of the way as the pigs and hogs go at it.
Zero leadership, competence, or honesty involved in this entire sad affair from the very beginning.
And some think that others in the metro would want to be a part of a regional airport authority?
    You've got to be kidding!

  2. Brilliant, 9:00!!

Now that pile of money at 12th & Oak--THAT would be "transformational", and good for Mike Mahoney at Ch. 9 to film as well.

Tony--how did you make those question marks go upside down??? That's transformational as well. I tried turning my tablet around. Also, standing on my head. Neither strategy worked.

  3. "Users of English (US) keyboards under Microsoft Windows can obtain the inverted question mark "¿" using the Alt code method by holding down the Alt key and pressing 0191, 6824, or 168 on the number pad and the inverted exclamation mark "¡" with number pad code 0161 or 173."

  5. Just who is in charge of building KCI? The city or all the organizations that may get work on the project. I say just get all the labor orgs, and community groups together and tell them to make it happen. Airport board should have just hired someone to build it and not told anyone until it was underway. one step forward 12 steps back.Typical KCMO way.

  6. The City has an ultimate responsibility to execute the deal which is the most cost efficient possible for the City and its taxpayers.
Certain members of this Counsel and so called community activists look at the airport as an opportunity to be paid off in some form or another. Slush fund, employment of unqualified and untrained employees paid oversight positions, etc.
And you wonder why this city which takes in $1.4 billion per year offers sub par services across the board???

  7. My brothers in the American Indian movement object too. We want the Airport torn down as our great forefather Chief "Squatting Over Your Soup Bowl Bare" and his horse Buttfire once took a dump on the sacred land. We see this airport as a monument to the white racist brothers from Kitty Hawk and want it torn down. We demand that our tribe be given the contract to accomplish this.

  10. None of these local idiots will get the work anyway, Edgemoor will bring in professionals from way outside the city limits, remember, they want it built right and on time. They don’t need to baby sit all those yard apes! And just checking all thos e fake s.s. Numbers on those spics would keep somebody busy for years! Lol!

  11. Let the professionals build the airport. The rest of you can work on all the cheap apartment building going up like weeds everywhere.
