KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The opioid epidemic impacting Missouri is showing no sign of slowing down. In early February, UMKC received an $8 million grant to help address the issue. "Part of that will go to building the capacity of the workforce in Missouri to better treat people who have substance abuse disorders and, in particular, opioid abuse disorders," said Laurie Krom with UMKC.

Richmond Police are looking for a bold thief and his female accomplice after a cross-state crime spree Monday. They stole a man's 2010 Ford Fusion in Kansas City, Kan. from the parking lot of his workplace, then drove 56 miles to Richmond, Mo. to burglarize the man's house, Richmond Police Detective Scott Bagley said.
