KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The opioid epidemic impacting Missouri is showing no sign of slowing down. In early February, UMKC received an $8 million grant to help address the issue. They stole a man's 2010 Ford Fusion in Kansas City, Kan. from the parking lot of his workplace, then drove 56 miles to Richmond, Mo. to burglarize the man's house, Richmond Police Detective Scott Bagley said.
