JACKSON COUNTY DEMOCRATS: WE DO NOT HAVE A FUNCTIONING GOVERNMENT IN JEFFERSON CITY RIGHT NOW!!!

Maybe a story of the pot & kettle but an important local declaration on statewide politics nonetheless . . .

Eric Greitens Remains Defiant, Who Knows What Happens Next

Thursday's shocking, although not surprising, news that Governor Eric Greitens was indicted on felony invasion of privacy charges in St. Louis is still shaking the Missouri political world. What will happen next is still a mystery though. Here's what we know:

- Greitens and his attorneys say he is going to fight the claims and that he will not resign

- The argument to dismiss the indictment claims the victim had no expectation of privacy since their affair was consensual, basically admitting that Greitens did photograph her wile partially nude and bound

- The House of Representatives will be launching it's own investigation that could potentially lead to impeachment down the road

- Members of both parties believe Greitens cannot lead at this point and have asked him to step aside

- The best that the Republican State Party could come up with to defend their Governor is a ridiculous assertion that George Soros is somehow behind all of this

No Governor in Missouri history has been impeached and only one has resigned (he was elected to the US Senate). How this is going to play out is anyone's guess but there is no doubt that we do not have a functioning government in Jefferson City right now. Beyond this indictment, Greitens is still involved in investigations around use of the Confide mobile app possibly deleting state records and potential illegal coordination with a political non-profit working on his behalf. We are in truly uncharted waters.

  1. I understand what they mean, but we haven't had one for years.

  2. There aren't seriously functioning governments in Jackson County or KCMO either.
If there was such a thing as pay for performance in local government, the taxpayers would be savings millions.
If only the local electeds would focus on the jobs they were elected to and address the services and issues residents expect instead of imaging that the rest of the state and the country actually care at all about their opinions on larger issues, we'd all be a whole lot better off.
Start with the homicides in KCMO and the jail in JaCo.

  3. The Democrats are just as corrupt.

Look at the mass murder going on in cities like Chicago and Baltimore...cities run by democrats.

Oh wait, so is Kansas City...

  4. Is Brittany Burke still working, I mean getting paid by Jackson County?

  5. Simple solution. Resign.

Greitens is killing the party. When he leaves, a Republican Lt Gov takes over, can jump start a GOP agenda, and would probably win in 4 years.

The alternative is Greitens stays, gets nothing done, and voted out if he stays. This is a no brainer.

  7. There isn't a functioning government in Jackson County either if that's the case they want to make.

  9. Our constitutionally-based criminal justice system places a high value on protecting the innocent. Among its central tenets is the idea that it is better to let a guilty person go free than to convict someone without evidence beyond a reasonable doubt.

  10. A neighbor is pissed because her little girl asked what blackmail meant.
Perhaps Greitens can save one other kid by getting this out of the news and resigning.

    Please resign Gov.... Please.

Yeah, sure, but the busy mommy sent the girl back to her nap before the tot could ask another question. So,
the next weekend at her daddy's house, the little girl asked him why he calls mommy's new boyfriend a n*gger, and grandma says daddy should say black male.

  11. I said to myself, where are we living? In the United States of America where you're innocent until proven guilty, or Nazi Germany with the Gestapo calling?

  12. He doesn’t think he did anything wrong and thinks he is a role model.
Wait until his kids grow up and start asking about duck tape.
The longer he “sticks” around.. the longer Missourians lose.
I would not let him shake hands with my dog.

  13. Were Nixon and Clinton removed from office during their investigations and trials or what evers?

No, so why must Greitens have to do so?

    ReplyDelete
  14. It is the press that has taken these charges and accusations and blown them up without any kind of skepticism whatsoever - blown them into realities and treated them as if they were true.

    ReplyDelete
  15. When one person makes an accusation, check to be sure he himself is not the guilty one. Sometimes it is those whose case is weak who make the most clamour.
The definition of an extreme authoritarian is one who is willing blindly to assume that government accusations are true without any evidence presented or opportunity to contest those accusations.

  16. This is nothing but a Bolshevik Show Trial worthy of Stalin and Beria. The useful idiot slick willy supporters should just shut up! The Crony Capitalists in Jeff City are just upset about losing a little revenue, bunch of grifters.

  17. Nixon resigned.

    Spitzer resigned. McGreevy resigned.

When you can't be effective, get out. He needs to put his party over himself.

  20. 8:36 Nixon only after he knew with no doubt he would be found guilty. Plus what Nixon was involved and and the charge against Greitens are completely different in many ways. Nixons were while in office while Greitens were before he was elected.

  21. The Jackass Democrats. The same group that's given us Mike Sanders and Frank White, one a convicted felon and one who ought to be charged with perjury and misappropriation of funds.

  22. Is Gretiens aware Gov Carnahans plane hit the ground in several pieces?

    ReplyDelete
  23. Yes and after Carnahan's plane crashed the Missouri jackass party adopted the motto "I'm with Mel". To bad they were all with him after the crash.

  24. Perhaps the Jackass County democrats should take a look at Jackson County before the incompetent ass hats try to clean up the state.
