Follow-up on a Friday call for mercy on local workers . . . Here's a look at outright rejection of a bi-partisan effort to keep the motorcycle maker in town as the company now focuses on electric bikes and bigger overseas markets. Checkit:
Harley-Davidson stands by plans to close plant despite plea from Missouri congressional leaders
Harley-Davidson Inc. said it is standing by its plans to close a motorcycle assembly plant in Kansas City, ending about 800 jobs there, despite a plea by Missouri congressional leaders who reminded Harley of the millions of dollars in incentives the state has provided the company over the last two decades.
Another dummocrat city losing high paying jobs, thanks racist sLIE for making them leave, your killing this city
ReplyDeleteThanks Donald Trump!
ReplyDeleteThis is what you get with a racist mayor
ReplyDeleteThey make a product where demand has steadily declined. No amount of incentives change that.
ReplyDeleteNeither does trolling about the mayor, president, democrats, republicans, etc. by all the keyboard ninjas.
I don't know why the employees I've seen being interviewed seemed so shocked and didn't see the writing on the wall.
Thanks, Obama - Clinton!
ReplyDeleteStrange, but once again, a Corporation devoted to the concept of making a profit manages to IGNORE THE SHIT OUT OF SOME POLITICIANS!
ReplyDeleteJust goes to show you that nothing done by any member of the Political Class has any effect on Reality.
An antique motorcycle has sales problems, who would of thunk it ?
ReplyDelete^^^^ +1,000 @ 10:44!
ReplyDeleteHate to use this word because of a disgusting jerkoff who posts on this site a lot, but all Harley makes are "GEEZER-CYCLES", and their customer base is dying off or getting too crippled up to ride!
Any time you see someone under sixty on a Harley, you can bet they're on the way to make a "delivery", and pizza is not involved.
10:16 = Voice of Reason
ReplyDeleteLet the marketplace rule. If they were producing a product in demand, they wouldn't be closing this factory.
Harley-Davidson has relied upon their history and image to keep their business going, but younger people don't like their product and can't afford it either. Ironically, you end up with a bunch of white-collar professional types, with disposable income, who like the pretense of being a "biker."
^^^^^ Geezers still have money, you dumbfuck.
ReplyDeleteIf you don't want it, someone else will so kiss my ass.
^^^^ nobody pays any attention to your stupid comments
ReplyDelete10:57 comment meant for 10:52!
ReplyDelete10:16 is totally correct with why Harley is having to downsize.
ReplyDeletewell, we could have a discussion about why incentives from gov are generally a bad idea... but then it won't happen. Whatever became of the TIF study??
ReplyDeleteConvert the Hardley Abelson factory to a fart pipe factory!
ReplyDeleteWin Win!
I thought Trump was going to bring jobs back to this country? Why is he lying?
ReplyDeleteThanks Chester A. Arthur.
ReplyDelete1:11 Idiot troll. waaaaaaaaa
ReplyDeleteWhy is Trump destroying the country and colluding with Russia?
ReplyDeleteThe bots are posting their false failing company and product talking points.
ReplyDeleteThe MAGA crowd so quickly disparages an American icon to protect the Orange Julius Caesar. HOG is not failing. Revenue was up last quarter as they continue to earn billions annually.
Trump's broken promise to protect American manufacturing jobs has the sheep scared. Worse, the tax policy is a 180 reversal. Companies are rewarded to automate factories that eliminate jobs, which is exactly what HOG is doing. These job loses are directly caused by Trump's GOP tax scheme.
Car wash Cleaver should have given them billions in tax free money to stay.
