Here's a local life lesson and reminder that 92% of KCPS students are on free or reduced lunch. For many youngsters, the lunch the school provides is the only balanced meal they will eat today and this local poverty fact of life looks like the primary motivation for the decision to keep schools open. KCPS superintendent defends decision to keep schools open Thursday
Kansas City Public Schools will have classes on Thursday. KCTV5 spoke with Superintendent Mark Bedell about why he chose to keep the district open.
Why would a school close today? This is normal winter weather, the roads are clear, not even cold.
ReplyDeleteMost Blacks would starve if it weren't for White people.
ReplyDeleteNo they wouldn’t. They know they can eat at any Applebee’s and walk out without paying.

ReplyDeleteI thought the mission was to provide a safe educational environment for the kids.
ReplyDeleteI am glad that he made the decision that he did. The kids need education time. They need breakfast and lunch. And their parents that have jobs need to be able to go to work without leaving small children at home to get into trouble.
ReplyDeleteIt did not create an unsafe condition to have the busses run and parents take children to school.
I applaud the decision.
92% is pathetic. How much do you suck when you can't even feed your own kids?
ReplyDeleteHUNGRY KIDS?! Heck, the teachers with mountains of Student Loan debt need to get the freebies or low cost meals, too. Plus, the revenues for our farms and food producers ain't to be messed with. If food sits in the freezers and in fridges and on shelves, district-wide, while the school cancels classes, that's a lot of unmatched district money going bye bye. The state reimbursements are for purchased foods, supplies, and labor costs for cooking/serving the meals. Gotta get that grub onto those plates whether or not it ALL gets eaten, or the food bill goes lower because less is purchased for the school year.
ReplyDeleteWith all the EBT, WIC and other free food programs available to po’folk, if you can’t make your kid a PB&J sandwich for lunch, you are a lazy piece of shit and a worthless parent. Take some responsibility for your kids you pieces of crap!
ReplyDeleteNinety two percent of KCSD parents can't even feed their own kids? That's the best advertisement for Planned Parenthood that I've heard yet - or maybe for compulsory sterilization. Three generations of parasites is enough.
ReplyDelete2:51 and 4:35 that’s some funny shit right there!!!
ReplyDeleteTrue, but funny! Lmao!!!
2:51--Don't you mean they can eat at almost ANY rest. and walk out without paying.
ReplyDeleteWhat these statistics really say is that only eight percent of KCPSD Parents give a shit about their kids and have any sense of self respect.
ReplyDeleteMaybe if we made those kids work for their lunch they wouldn't come out of school with a degree in entitlements.
ReplyDeleteDo gangs offer free food ? Marketing idea bros.
ReplyDeleteFree drugs and hoes.
DeleteI hear that the Schools are now telling the kids that their Breakfasts and Lunches are being provided to them by the Country of Wakanda.
ReplyDelete8:51- Bigly LOL!
