Airbnb Saves South Kansas City!?!?

Here's an argument for the new economy over more depressing low-income alternatives despite the protestations of longtime Southland leaders.

Take a look:

Why South Kansas City Should Support Short Term Rentals

Money line:

"The Southern Communities Coalition doesn’t want more used car lots and liquor stores, which devalue neighborhoods, but when given an opportunity for neighbors to invest in and improve their properties (which means more property tax for the Hickman Mills school district), they want to deny them that opportunity. Many of these neighborhoods have great challenges, so any incentive to revitalize these neighborhoods should be taken. I believe that opposition to short-term rentals is based on looking backwards rather than forward. The future is more digital technology like Cerner and Fishtech represent."

You decide . . .

  1. Airbnb drove up tent prices 300.00/in NYC.

  2. How much were tents before Airbnb?

  3. A start to saving south Kansas City would be people quit listening to John Sharp.

  4. Whoever wrote that. Probably lives in Kansas. Ditto on Sharp! He needs to retire for good!

  5. Wonder what Sharp and Nash will have to say as soon as approval of the sale comes through and Cerner leaves KC?

  6. I've never listened to anything that forked tongue Sharp has said. If he has said it I automatically assume it is a lie.
