  1. There should never be a strain on this when we have Mike Burke and his unlimited blank check for a damn hotel,Sly and his endless bonds and rising taxes, airports, choo choo trains, and endless giveaways but people are freezing to death and being slaughtered at damn near record pace.

  2. The immediate strain looks to be on those poor chairs. The monstrous girth of Americas "poor" never ceases to amaze me.

    1. The food served at shelters and provided at pantries is very high in carbs and fat. Cheap food is generally unhealthy. This is common knowledge for most people. Also, diabetes is very prevelant because of this food, which makes it very difficult to lose wait. #genius

  3. Right, all 5 people in the picture have overwhelmed the shelter.

  4. Never lifting a finger to support oneself and drinking cheap wine are also contributing factors.

  5. 7:16, eating less would help them lose weight. These guys may be homeless (or not!), but they have not missed many meals.

  6. Maybe Joel Osteen will throw a few bucks from his Sprint Center fleecing to the shelter.

    Nah.

He needs to fuel and heat his private jet for the ride home.

  7. C'mon 5:55/7:7:22/7:52 have some heart for what is often the struggling workadays who haven't been getting high wages. Not all homeless are lay-abouts, drunks, nor dummies. More of them, lately, experienced sudden significant financial dilemmas. Some had job losses from health complications or injury. There's been some bankrupted due to costs of their own illness or a dependent's major health issue. And tragically, some suffer a major enough hardship simultaneous to other set-backs that causes their initial predicament of having no home. So, if you're able to volunteer at agencies for homeless in KC, the surprise might be to discover how many work, but don't, currently, have ample funds for housing.
