TKC BREAKING NEWS!!! TOLD YOU SO!!! KICK-ASS TIPSTER REPORT CONFIRMED: DISGRACED FORMER JACKSON COUNTY EXECUTIVE MIKE SANDERS TO PLEAD GUILTY IN FEDERAL COURT!!!
And so the saga of a formerly great career is soon to be complete . . .
We talked about the final steps in a Jackson County downfall yesterday afternoon and now it's Kansas City news FACT. . .
To wit . . .
SPECIAL THANKS TO KICK-ASS TKC TIPSTERS FOR OFFERING A SNEAK PEAK OF SKIPPY'S LAST STAND!!!
Here's terrestrial radio playing catch-up to our blog community:
KMBZ: Former Jackson County Executive Mike Sanders to plead guilty in federal court
Deets:
Former county executive Mike Sanders and his chief of staff Calvin Williford were implicated in a case involving misappropriation of campaign funds. The FBI had been investigating Sanders for several years. He allegedly skimmed money from campaign accounts he controlled after paying a longtime friend for consulting work that was not done.
Over months and years this drama played out and was the subject of some nasty local debate, cheese-ball stories, apologist chatter . . . The politico was even a regular guest on Public TV.
For TKC, the low point of this story was a late night resignation and local pundits actually going on TV and saying what a great job the guy did as he scampered out of office like a hobo in the night.
And so, the radio confirms that Friday will finish off another Democratic Party political career that went to 12th & Oak to die.
Thoughts and prayers.
ReplyDeleteI heard the cream puff was going up the river with him, too.
DeleteSure that there's going to be an effort to frame this as a Democratic Party embarrassment but Mike was a pretty piss-poor Democrat. He brought a lot of Republican consultants into Jackson County politics and even his stint with the Missouri Democratic campaign committee was pretty pathetic. He was a social climber, not an ideologue.
DeleteSo, that's not federal, pound me in the ass prison, right?
DeleteThoughts and prayers? NO! Don't steal money (or anything else). Let's hope this is the beginning of a trend that crosses 12th St. to where the real criminals reside.
DeleteAll of this should send a very big warning sign to our current crop of Jackson County elected officials.
ReplyDeletecan he use the hundreds of thousands of camaoaign funds still in his campaign account for his lawyers or have to give back to people it came from
ReplyDeleteI would much rather see Sly in handcuffs being sent to prison.
ReplyDelete
ReplyDelete6:16 Call it for what it is, a democratic failure and embarrassment. Your post is an embarrassment, turn your finger back around.
The last 3 Jackson County executives have been indicted, 2 convicted. Almost like Illinois governors.
ReplyDeleteI think it'll be four in a row soon with Sanders' handpicked successor, Frank White, keeping the streak alive.
DeleteOh the diaper shitting is going to be EPIC this morning!!!

ReplyDeleteCalm down stuttering buttboi. Or, is that just alot of echoes coming from your kink you're yelling in that fave Barry BathHouse.
DeleteI heard Calvin Williford is the one going to do big time? He took money for trips and "men" and tried to blame Sanders. Wow, what a scumbag.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure how much time either will do but I do know Calvin Williford has a cooperation agreement with the Feds. Mike Sanders doesn't. A little birdie told me.
ReplyDeleteAs bad as misusing campaign contributions may be (and illegal too!), the much greater concern for Jackson County taxpayers is how their tax money is squandered and misdirected for the same kinds of insider no-bid contracts, fake no-show "jobs", consulting contracts, and all the rest.
ReplyDeleteCamapign contributions are voluntary.
Paying taxes is not.
The feds have lots of work yet to do.
Glazer will be able to give Mike some tips on doing federal time.
ReplyDeleteWhat will Sugar Creek Mayor and City Council do without his advice?
ReplyDeleteThe recurring theme is dummocrats are lyin, thievin, no good bastards who are in it for themselves, mike, coprophilia boy, frank, sLIE, Troy and the entire city council are nothing but crooks. Face it, they’ve been stealing money for many, many decades. It’s about time they got busted and sent to the big house for the arse f-ing they deserve
ReplyDeleteWill Sander's wife get to keep her job as Garry Baker's aide?
ReplyDeleteKansas City Andy Jackson County have a long history of crooked ass Democrats running it. It is noteworthy that none of these thieves got their comeuppance until Obama's department of just us was out-of-the-way.
ReplyDeleteCriminals. Liars and Thieves.
ReplyDeleteWill someone tell us why that _itch McAsskill is still around. Need to look at her contributions as the former JACO prosecutor who did nothing but ensure her crony support for the political position.
ReplyDeleteThis shouldn't stop with Mike Sanders. Now Frank White really really really needs to explain his ties to this scumbag, starting with the consulting contract given Sanders from the county for $60,000 after White, with Sanders' backing, was appointed county executive, right up through Sanders working out the super secret deal to bail Frank out when he was about to get foreclosed on.
ReplyDeleteI want to know about Brittany Burke and Cathy Jolly's no work, paid Jackson County jobs.
ReplyDelete9:10 This should go beyond campaign funds. Sanders used millions in county money to renovate the courthouse on Independence Square, putting in it an art gallery for Ken McClain's artwork saving McClain who knows how much to store and keep (and maybe insure) this million-dollar collection. And McClain owns a lot of property around the Square that all got more valuable after the courthouse reopened. And then McClain gave Sanders a half-million dollar gig working for his law firm.
ReplyDelete6:28AM is on the ball this morning!
ReplyDeleteHas the state of Missouri seized Sanders campaign committee funds (close to $500K) before it mysteriously disappears?
KCPT needs to publicly apologize for repeatedly inviting scumbag Sanders on their Ruckus program as a guest, even after most people knew this day was coming.
Never trust a guy who can't admit to himself that he's bald, and goes out in public with a silly wig on.
Maybe the FBI should investigate Troy Schulte's $25,000,000 in recent pay outs which are unaccounted for. Did any of this money find its way into someone's pocket or campaign. fund?
ReplyDelete9:36 ^^^ I've always wondered about that Rock Island deal, the county paying $50,000,000 for a weed-infested stretch of track assessed for less than a fourth of what the county paid. Sanders hammered out the deal and supposedly got that $60,000 consulting contract to finalize it after he resigned as county executive. Then, of course, that dip-shit Frank White signed off on it. I'm wondering if there was some kind of kickback involved there.
ReplyDeleteAnd he gave Jackson County Frank White. What a legacy!
ReplyDeleteMy diaper is so full right now, I need to take a break from all this complaining we've been doing this morning to change it. How about you guys?
ReplyDeleteIsn't this the story The Star had way before you?
ReplyDeletehttp://www.tonyskansascity.com/2017/12/one-year-after-he-left-jackson-county.html
Yeah it sure is!!!
So you told us nothing.
Credit where it's due
Shhhh. The Star's a bad joke and so are you.
DeleteActually, if you go back to the newspaper reports on the $60K give-away to Skippy after he "decided to spend more time with his family," that came up when Denny Waits was going to be the Acting County Executive until a special election could be held for the rest of Skippy's last term. That deal was too obviously corrupt even for Denny Waits to do, so he threw Gullible Frank White into that brier patch. Frank ended up to be too dense to even be controlled by Denny and Denny had not counted on that.
ReplyDeleteRemember,Denny is up to his eyeballs in Sanders' deals. And we can expect that Calvin Williford knows all about that bullshit. Calvin needs friends in law enforcement right now, so Denny should be very, very nervous this morning.
Furthermore, who knows whether Mean Jean Peters Baker will finally look into the $60k deal and Denny's sweetheart deals on County purchasing and facilities. Why did Denny bend over backwards to keep Troy Thomas happy when Caleb fired his ass for insubordination? With Calvin singing, Mean Jean might finally have trouble looking the other way. If she does not do something about Denny, she may have some federal legal troubles of her own?
Caleb fired Troy Thomas because he wouldn't continue signing off on Caleb and Frank illegally misappropriating county funds left and right. Then Mark Trosen resigned as the acting director of Finance because he wouldn't play along with Frank and Caleb either. Then Scott Jacoby, the assistant director of Finance, got suspended because he too wouldn't sign off on their crap.
DeleteDoing the math, that would be one firing, one resignation, and one suspension among people working in Finance under Frank and Caleb. I think that's a pretty clear sign Frank and Caleb are doing some pretty hinky shit with the county's money. It's a Jackson County tradition for the exec to be a crook, and Frank is carrying it on.
With Frank and Caleb, refusing to follow illegal orders does amount to "insubordination."
@ 10:08 A friend of mine was there for the official "signing ceremony." He said the railroad executives and Sanders couldn't keep the shit-eating grins of their faces.
ReplyDeleteThen the RR execs made contributions to one or more of Sanders' many PACs. And Mike hires the Easter Bunny and Tooth Fairy to do some door-to-door political work for those PACs, and somehow Mike has the cash to take a vacation?
ReplyDeleteLeVota's Win!
ReplyDelete1/26/18, 9:33 AM
ReplyDeleteWhat's a few no work jobs between friends? Remember Denny's "aide" Jim Barnes? Anybody ever see the man working on county business?
I am so glad he use to be in control of the 25 million dollars a year combat fund. Good job!
ReplyDeleteFrank White is real dense. If he just played well with others, they probably all could still be robbing the county blind. Now his very public tantrums are shining the spotlight on the rampant corruption at the courthouse, including Frank's own unethical if not illegal conduct.
ReplyDeleteSanders, Shields and apparently Waits were able to get away with it for years. Poor dense Frank White lasted two years.
ReplyDeleteHe should have known better
Only republicans get away with this shit
Do not be surprised if corruption is found in every aspect of Magic Mike's public and political career.
ReplyDeleteMike Sanders resigned in the night and his buddy Todd Graves is given a contract to investigate the jail scandal.
How long have the Jackson County Jail problems been ignored?
Obviously, Graves was paid to cover-up the jail scandal and protect Sanders. The amount paid has been kept from the public. Was it $200,000.00? Was there a kick-back finders fee to Mikey.
If a report on the jail exists, the content has been kept from the public.
Todd Graves was removed as U.S. Attorney for improprieties and Mike Sanders influences the County Exec to give him a pay-off to protect Sanders.
Did Graves and Sanders, as prosecutors, Federal and Jackson County/State, ever collude to not prosecute crimes.
Discretion of prosecutors can easily become willful cover-up of crimes by the influential and powerful.
What crimes have been ignored by powerful players that are still operating at City Hall or the County?
And Mike's handpicked successor as county exec has been paying Graves all this money for all this "consulting." There's a reason Sanders wanted somebody like Frank White replacing him as County Executive, somebody not too bright, somebody desparate for money, somebody who'd come running to Mike to be a fixer when his house is about to be foreclosed on.
DeleteDemocrats should not be given money!
ReplyDeleteI wonder if Sanders and White will make it on the Netflix series Dirty Money?
ReplyDelete
ReplyDeleteDemocrats be scammin'
It's what they do.
^^^ Anybody who doesn't know crooked politicians come in all political stripes is an idiot. That's why I don't trust either Democratic thieves or Republican thugs.
ReplyDeleteAnd indeed, yea verily, the diaper SHITTING was non-stop. There was much feces betwixt the skin and the Depends.
ReplyDeleteCaleb, does this mean that I do not need to pay back the money for the house now?
ReplyDelete
