National Geographic Traveler has pegged Kansas City as a "trending" city that travelers should keep on their radar. The travel magazine revealed its list of the "Best Small Cities in the U.S." and looked at metrics that it believes leads to happiness. Those include categories, such as green spaces, galleries, coffee shops, nightlife, music venues and "Instagrammable moments."

The discussion will include changes to the community benefits agreement, which includes items like free transportation to and from the work site, as well as childcare for workers.

A Kansas City man who used his smart phone to pass a note to a teller pleaded guilty to robbing an Overland Park, Kansas, bank. U.S. Attorney Tom Beall said Ryan Michael Cothern, 41, of Kansas City, pleaded guilty Wednesday to the Oct. 3 robbery at US Bank at 9900 W.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Firefighters are on the scene of a house fire near 38th and Haskell Thursday. The fire broke out around 2:22 p.m. A pedestrian passing by the burning house helped pull an injured man out to safety. It is unclear whether the man's injuries are serious.

Ants have a symbiotic relationship with some aphids...protecting them from parasites and predators as the aphids produce a sugary substance the ants crave...it's fascinating behavior.
