We warned our blog community that this was gonna be a big issue in the coming year and now here's public TV promoting their upcoming movie on the topic of a Kansas City housing crisis . . .
More to the point, this bit of local cinema will also compliment a legislative crackdown against landlords and more KCMO "renters rights" that are sure to make life a great deal harder for property owners.
Here's the description:
"After years of stagnant wages and skyrocketing rents, many metro residents are not able to find affordable housing . . . From evictions, to gentrification, to the fight over apartments and rent, we take a closer look at how housing issues are impacting health, education and the long-term viability of neighborhoods."

ReplyDeleteGood grief.
PBS is Koch Brothers funded propoganda.
ReplyDeletePay your rent on time, keep your apartment clean so as not to attract roaches and rodents, don't let it be a haven for drug dealing relatives, do all that and you won't get evicted.
ReplyDeleteMove to a smaller town. The cost of living is much lower, and minimum wage is still the same. Most smaller towns even have Wal-Mart which now has a higher minimum wage.
ReplyDeleteAgain we go after the folks who worked to get ahead in favor of a bunch of fucking bumbs who refuse to do a damn thing to rise up and further themselves.
ReplyDeleteEvictions are legal so what dey gonna do bout it huh! This is all about blaming the white landlords so these poor pitiful coloreds can bleed more free shit out of them. Put the blame on where it belongs, the blacks!
