Kansas City Blogger 'I,Tonya' Review

A quick endorsement and glimpse at the theme of one of the best movies of the year which offered a glimpse at the struggle of working-class young woman confronting bias from the media and most people . . .

Uncommon Courage: We stereotype people and we stereotype what powerful people should look like . . .

You decide . . .

  1. Blubbering Bratcher is certainly a dumb cunt. Tonya Harding was given her due, right up until Nancy was attacked.

  4. ^^^^^^

How do you know 11:39 is too broke to see the film????

Seems to me you know how much money everyone has and what they do in their spare time.

Maybe you're the dumb one. BYRON

  6. Repeated verification = justifiable belief.

That said, in my opinion, L.B. is correct here.

    The movie looks great.

  7. @1:02PM-because he used "dumb cunt" to describe Bratcher. That's why. Nobody of any consequence or substance does that. Any more stupid questions? Now scram!

  8. Another "Everyone but white men are victims" intelligence-insulting screed from an obvious feminist. Much Ado.

  9. Oh how we all wish Ms. Harding had looks anything like Margot Robbie!
If so, Figure Skating might still be something anyone watched.

  10. Oh my! In what has to be one of the biggest stretches of recent memory, politically liberal discrimination attorney Lynne Bratcher seeks to correlate the career implosion of skater Tonya Harding to the plight of powerless Latinos, African-Americans, women and other groups that don't fit the white male cookie cutter. And let's be clear, that is Bratcher defining educated white men as powerful and all others impotent.

Never mind that she fails to define what "educated" refers to in her world. Does she mean a high school graduate like Bill Gates (Microsoft) or the late Steve Jobs (Apple), who both dropped out of college? Or if we want to look locally in KCMO, how about Joyce Hall (Hallmark) who did just fine without a college degree, or Walt Disney (Disney Studios) who dropped out of high school. Among the ranks of the college uneducated are historical icons like Henry Ford, Andrew Carnegie, Barry Diller, Dave Thomas (Wendy's), George Eastman (Kodak), Wayne Huizenga, John D. Rockefeller, and countless others.

The most significant point that Bratcher makes in this brief post is her own admission to stereotyping people based upon their physical looks and educational background. The only problem is that she accuses you of doing the same misdeed without knowing the facts.

Her entire last two paragraphs are a nonsensical indictment of "educated white men" and her implicit offer on the challenge of overcoming them. Lynne Bratcher just reconfirmed her discriminatory bias against some 50-percent of the American population.

  13. White men are the elite. Who else should the powerless rail against, but those who keep them down.
