TKC TUESDAY QUESTION: HOW CAN WE HELP KANSAS CITY ESCAPE SHAMEFUL 'WORST PLACE TO LIVE' LISTING???
This year online rankings proved exceptionally embarrassing and detrimental to Kansas City branding.
The Prospect corridor ranked among the most dangerous places in the United States.
And . . .
Across the State Line KCK didn't do much better in a ranking that named it among the 50 worst in the nation.
To wit . . .
WHAT CAN KANSAS CITY DO TO IMPROVE A HORRIFIC REPUTATION THAT'S MOSTLY FOCUSED ON CRIME AND LACK OF ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY?!?!?
So far, the answer from city leaders throughout the metro has been touting "creative class" jobs that might not really exist, promoting fake news about 25-million annual tourists OR simply running a lot of smiling selfies.
Like it or not, a horrific homicide rate that earned national attention this year is really this town's calling card and a real world contradiction to so much developer & politico hype.
