KANSAS CITY, Kan. - During cold nights like these, The Bridge of Hope Community Church turns into a cold-weather shelter. "A safe place, safe haven for them until the morning," Pastor Luther Eatman said. This is the second year the church has served as a cold weather shelter, the only one of its kind in Wyandotte County.

KC police ID man shot to death on Christmas Eve

Kansas City police have identified a man shot to death on Christmas Eve. Abdi D. Sanweyne, 27, was found suffering from a gunshot wound in the 300 block of Garfield Avenue. He was taken to a hospital, but died a short time later. The shooting was reported at 6:11 p.m.

  3. Those idiots didn’t have renters insurance and the fire was a month ago, they were told after weeks of living off the landlord for free and they’re going to complain? Typical hood rat crap, get on tv and make someone else look bad when it’s their responsibility to get another place to live, I mean seriously, you would think they would be grateful but noooooooo

  4. I asked a Kansas City Atheist Coalition member what they were doing for the homeless over the holiday...they said that it is a little too cold for them in December and January to do much activism.

    Although they do help a charity at Micah Ministries a couple of days a month...and at least 10 or so of their supposedly HUNDREDS OF MEMBERS always show up to help! LOL!!!
