Big things are expected to spring from a 2-acre site at the northwest corner of 12th and Charlotte streets on the east side of the downtown freeway loop. The Kansas City Area Transportation Authority acquired the site, currently a surface parking lot, last month from Barber & Sons Co.

Kindred Hospital Kansas City, which does business as Kindred Hospitals East LLC, will close in January, according to a Missouri state filing. The transitional care hospital, located at 8701 Troost Ave., will close sometime between Jan. 6 and 20. The closing will affect 115 employees, according to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act filing.

RideKC says the city bus makes more than 45 stops at this intersection during the day and is a big reason why this intersection is so busy for pedestrians and drivers.

  4. The KCMO Bus Company is now building apartments and office buildings? Is that their core expertise? Clearly Mass Transportation is not. It seems that All the local news outlets are giddy over it.
    I can’t wait to see what happens when the fire department begins building police stations.
