Survey Seyz: Kansas City Home Ownership Dream Denied For People Of Color

Take a look at the working poor still paying the prices for Wall Street pushing the world toward economic collapse by way of derivatives and then earning "too big to FAIL" bailouts whilst blaming everybody else for their hubris . . .

Less than half of minorities in KC own homes - here's why - Kansas City Business Journal

Just 44.7 percent of minorities in the Kansas City metro own a home, according to an Abodo Apartments report released Tuesday. That's less than half of the minorities in the area. Why? Loan eligibility and saving for a down payment. Obtaining a loan is tough, even tougher for minorities - especially Hispanics and African-Americans.

  1. To own a house one must pay for it and we all know blacks hate to work and would rather have it given to them. Simple solution to the problem is for blacks to get enough education so they can get a job and then be able to get a house like all the other people who work for a living do.

  3. This article is laughable and is a huge piece of propaganda shit!!!!!

The blacks that do work get way more jobs over whites and are allowed to get loans with no problem, same for Hispanics.

  4. The biggest obstacle to home ownership has always been the down payment. In the early 2000s lenders were allowed to make loans with zero down payments in an effort to increase home ownership. We all know how well that worked.

Many young white people borrow or are gifted the down payments from family. I would guess many minorities don't have the same option.

Still in years past many people saved up for several years for a down payment and when they finally achieved home ownership they had a huge stake in their home. But with today's "I want it now" mentality it looks like apartment life will for some be forever.

  5. If they can afford to buy a house they aren't going to buy it in KC. They are going to buy in Lees Summit, Blue Springs, Olathe, etc.

  6. The fact that people of color were encouraged to own housing prior to 2008 was directly related to the housing bubble crash of 2008. It seems that boons are so freaking used to handouts they could not figure out that you have to make more income than you spend. I don't give a shit what color folks are. I do give a shit when my retirement looses 40 percent of its value because the fucking libtards think I owe it to them. Real simple folks! If you want to have personal worth including a home then you need to go to school, get skills that are valued by employers and earn the money. That is how things are supposed to work in America. No one owes you a fucking thing.

Most black people are not poor. Most of the people on food stamps are white. Most of the people on food stamps work.

Just putting this out there as an alternative to so many KKK talking points.

  8. ^^^ Says the idiot who doesn't own a home because he's too busy scamming the government for his existence.

  9. They should all own a house, after all they can live in relative peace in the areas where house are $15,000, a white cannot do that.

  10. Hardly any of them pay their bills. By the time they think of buying a house they have all kinds of derogatory credit and repossessions. Every single one of them has cell phone accounts in collections. If Go Chicken Go had charge accounts they would be in bankruptcy.

  12. Agree with the comment section, 2008 mortgage meltdown due to dreamers with the me right now mentality preyed on by sub prime sharks,,, I know several people who live in the same house their grandparents owned or on the land of their families for generations ,,now sometimes the area ain't so great but they are building wealth not drowning in credit hell

  13. Byron meant to say, "Most of the people on food stamps are white like me. We are the white trash you hear about that won't work and goes from one scam to the next seeking money we are to lazy to earn. Now you see why my Daddy use to beat the hell out of me because I am a worthless human being that should have been nutted and bled out at birth."
