KANSAS CITY RADIO TALKER KELLY URICH COMEBACK AFTER PODCAST FAIL!!!

Our TKC blog community has been talking about this in the comments for about a week and so here's a bit of confirmation and update from a local radio insider . . .

Report: "Kelly Urich takes over the morning drive slot on December 26th, replacing Dick Wilson. Urich has been out of radio for about a year. But otherwise, Urich has worked at KBEQ, KXXR, KMXV, and three different formats on 99.7, most recently, KZPT."

This move offers an interesting opportunity for Mr. Urich after the demise of his online radio efforts but still begs the question:

CAN KELLY URICH SAVE KCMO RADIO???

His online podcasting effort suffered from tech glitches and was web based while the rest of the world adopted apps and mobile tech, still he shouldn't be faulted for trying new things.

Nevertheless . . .

The power of local celebrity can be tricky but we can't fault Mr. Urich for trying to rekindle the fortunes of a faltering station and his own rocky terrestrial radio career that certainly deserves even more attention.

You decide . . .

Yes, who is that hot little slut?

I hope he is better than Dick and Renee. I absolutely hated to hear Renee's voice in the morning. She always talked like she was 16 years old. Ugh...

That's Paris Hilton. The photo looks like it was a while ago. She's not quite so hot now, but then again, neither is Kelly.

I haven't bothered with the radio since KXTR abandoned the classical music format. Have no idea who this guy is or who he used to be.

Kelly's web based radio kcradio.com isn't totally dead. I wouldn't call it a failure as much as I would an experiment that was so close to working but as Kelly said, still a little ahead of it's time. Kelly did find out doing a web based station as such was more work than he thought it would be. It's all still very together and could be up and running in a matter of hours. Kelly was on the air at 99.7 where his co-host at one time was my friend Nycki Pace who is now on mornings at the Rock with Johnny Dare after he put in mothballs kcradio for the time being. This is going to be an adventure for Kelly and he's all excited about it and can't wait to be on the air again.

Years ago Paris Hilton did have a small amount of tawdry appeal, made up of 10% "not disgusting-looking" and 90% "ready availability".

However, that was several years and who knows how many plastic surgeries ago. Have you seen any recent pictures of her?
Imagine a "Party Girl" morphing into an "Old Jew"! UGHH!

Faltering radio station? Check your facts. They consistently have the second highest ratings of all stations in KC.

Word has it that Dick Wilson was fired for groping his neighbor's pet pig 40 years ago when the pig was a baby. Gloria Alred is on her way to investigate. She thinks the animal might be a distant relative.
