The latest local murder report pushes the homicide number even higher . . . Read more:
KCTV5: A homicide investigation is underway after a man was shot and killed Tuesday.
Police were called about 1 p.m. to East 55th Street and Cambridge Avenue.
KMBC's take on the story: KCPD investigates homicide Tuesday near 55th, Blue Parkway
139 homicides so far compares to 124 homicides at this time last year and 131 homicides total in 2016.
Developing . . .
Almost three weeks in the year still. This isn't looking good for KC.
ReplyDeleteIf you don't fund the police then you'll get more murders. The solution should be obvious to curb the homicides but nobody sees at City Hall.
DeleteYou’re right it’s not looking too good. I still think we can reach the 154 total to break the record of 153 which has stood since 1993.
DeleteYou sound stupid just like the rest of these idiots...kill yourselves so us normal people can prosper. This isnt a game we should try to win. Its a damn shame. Grow up people and dont respect BS. Dont do crap around me, cause im telling.#GETTINGMYTAXDOLLARSWORKING
DeleteAnother one for the cold case file.
ReplyDelete#139 for killa city at 55th and Cambridge!!!
ReplyDeleteI’m sure it was a white guy that did it , right?
ReplyDelete"If you don't fund the police then you'll get more murders..."
ReplyDeleteThat's not true. The number of murders has nothing to do with the police. The police can't prevent homicides. By your reasoning, if you give the police enough money there would be no murders. Each killing is an individual act by the shooter. There is nothing that you can do about it. As long as people have free will & guns there will be murders.
Drugs and gangs, that's the problem that NOBODY in KC wants to talk about it because that would take real work.
ReplyDeleteIt's better for idiots like Byron and the Mayor to work to take the guns away from law abiding owners.
Shame on City Hall.
ReplyDeleteByron he didn't say with more money there would be no murders! Stop saying things that aren't true and that people didn't say.
Gun control didn't work, Missouri doesn't allow it anyway. If we want to start grabbing guns, then do the right thing and take away ILLEGAL guns from criminals. Sly won't go down that path because it's too hard and requires real work, not just talk.
ReplyDelete3:43 YOU are right. It's the thousands of gang members. There are documentaries on the subject
ReplyDeleteAll you people who think that a black guy did this, just stop it right now. That isn't allowed. Even though it is probably true.
ReplyDeleteLook at the demographics of that neighborhood, nobody disagrees that the suspect is Black, but so is the victim. What you're saying isn't news to anybody. But figuring out how to reduce the murders would be a more productive conversation.
DeleteHey Byron, Chicago has stringent gun control. How's their murder rate doing?
ReplyDeleteThat is where I get my dog food, sure as hell hope it’s not the owner or his son, they are awesome people. He sells dog and cat supplies and also has a bait shop. Busy as hell all the time
ReplyDelete3:24 pm - You said "the police can't prevent homicides. Each killing is an individual act by the shooter. There is nothing that you can do about it." And you are absolutely correct.
ReplyDeleteCops are too busy gunning down unarmed civilians to fight crime.
ReplyDeleteMakes you wonder why cops brag when the homicides statistics are low.
ReplyDeleteCome on KC!
ReplyDeleteNineteen days left in 1917, and only 19 more "civic improvements" to a new record! YOU CAN DO IT!
Please double or triple up at least one day so you can all take a holiday off to spend with your families sitting around the Christmas Tree and singing Christmas Carols.
154 would be the new record and I know we can hit that.
Delete4:42 excellent point my friend!
ReplyDeleteEven if we get a new record this year it’s that that impressive. Baltimore has 328 so far this year.
ReplyDeleteBaltimore has more black people therefore more murders. They should beat us.
DeleteKilla City in for the Big Win.
ReplyDeleteI dint see nuffin
ReplyDeleteLyndon B Johnson war on poverty was nothing more the undeclared war on black people... once again as with the KKK these are all Democrats doing this to the black population as long as you keep voting Democrats you're going to continue to have a war on black people because Democrats are the real klansman. Look at the downtown building situation most of those living down there are liberal Democrats and yet you see no blacks that's because they don't like blacks they see them as Pawns to get their own Pockets lined with gold.. there is a recording of Lyndon B Johnson calling the blacks useful idiots.
ReplyDeleteAll of this junk is why I voted for Trump. Hillary didn't say nothing about crime.
ReplyDeleteBtw, I'm a Black man and I want to see my community do better. What's happening so far isn't going to cut it.
And remember KCPD cannot fight crime, they don't even make a dent in it.
ReplyDeleteSo next time they need more money Vote no.
Job growth is on its way up, the economy is growing. Now we need some growth in taking responsibility in some areas of town to go get one of those jobs.
ReplyDelete3:10 ya funding the police would help, but I think they are more funded today than in the last 10 years and the homicide rate stills climbs. Cant blame it on the POPO!! The blame needs to be placed on the dumb asses who think they have the right to take a life, and while 3/4 of the people who do are to ignorant or desperate to even understand the ramifications of the act, and then once they get caught cry in court and we who pay taxes and hire the public defenders who get them a reduced sentence, or aquittal. the system is whats wrong, and its killing people, so dont blame the cops!
ReplyDeleteThere are actually about 150 less cops in KC today than 10 years ago. Thank your mayor and city council for the crime increase.
DeleteThe System is Whites with power move to JoCo, but still control City Hall, and Blacks in office (Sly) get their money from JoCo!! So, no one pays attention to the crime and murders in the neighborhoods! Thanks Sly, hope you enjoy your next job at Burns & Mac!!!
