Crackerjack Kansas City Star Reporter Mike Hendricks Uncovers Exec Frank White Housing Crisis TKC Reported Last Year!!!

Credit where it's due . . . The financial connections to a big Meth Town law firm are fun but will amount to nothing. Nevertheless, here's The Star reporting longstanding gossip and a topic we took on last year. Take a look:

Frank White's secret financial rescue raises conflict of interest concerns

Jackson County Executive Frank White was driving to Branson for a golf tournament last year when his phone rang. "Your house is going to be sold on the courthouse steps tomorrow," the caller said.

Comments

  1. Does this mean that he can not manage money. does this mean that he may need "help" again soon.

  2. Didn't your awesome tipsters say it was a paperwork error?

JACKSON COUNTY INSIDER: "We've heard back about this question and it's simply a paper work error that Frank has sorted out. Bottom line: His house isn't going to be sold next month."

    I guess they did.

Yeah, you reported on it all right! Entirely wrong, but you beat everybody!!! Way to go Brenda Starr.

  4. All the money he made and even his penguin he gets now... and his house isn’t worth $400... which begs:

    1. What does he spend his money on?
    2. At what point does he feel his spending is on par with income?
    3. He blames a former employer that has paid him handsomely and he gets a pension most dream of?
    4. Did he get his financial advice from “old Carwash” Cleaver?
    5. If this is the best he can do on a personal finance level- do people think he will do better as an elected official?

If someone gave him advice to blame politics- seems he is doing just that while avoiding the man in the mirror.

  5. As County Executive, Frank gets a county paid car to use too. It's a new Jeep Grand Cherokee. Nice.

  6. white privilege

    ReplyDelete
  7. So Frank White just isn't incompetent as county executive. He's corrupt too.

    ReplyDelete
  8. FRANK WHITE MUST RESIGN IMMEDIATELY!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  9. Looks like that $60K parting gift Frank gave Sanders was to serve as broker for some shady shit.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Bayball been berry berry good ta me.

    ReplyDelete
  11. I knew all that shit Frank White was trying to spread about being county executive to serve the community was a lie. The dude needs the money. Anybody who made the money he did and collects a pension around $9 grand a month and still can't get his finances in order without "gifts" isn't getting any sympathy from me. Resign now Frank.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Frank White gets a Jeep and his Chief of Staff got a truck. Fuck them both.

    ReplyDelete
  13. So we're calling bribes "gifts" now?

    ReplyDelete
  14. The county assessed Frank's home for $50K less than Zillow? Must be nice to oversee the Assessment of your own house when you're having property tax troubles. How the fuck doesn't someone know until the day before that their house is about to be auction off on the courthouse steps?

    ReplyDelete
  15. Anyone want to bet Frank was driving to play golf on what was a business day? He'd only sound more pathetic if he had been on his way to play polo.

    ReplyDelete
  16. It says in the article he was on his way to a golf tournament. He has been retired for years with that pension. He had years of a $300,000 salary for a part time job. He should have had a paid off house years ago and paid off in cash, at that. Something is up with this guy. He doesn't sound remotely qualified to hold public office. I know Zillow isn't the end-all-be-all but if he got a favor from an appraiser to lower the value of his house, his neighbors should sue Frank and the county for artificially lowering the value of their homes. I wonder if any realtor noticed something fishy about the comps around there?

    ReplyDelete
  17. I would think the IRS would have some questions for Frank if someone "gifted" him the kind of money needed to get out of that big a financial mess.

    ReplyDelete
  18. @ 6:27 Jackson County doesn't have an elected assessor like nearly every other county, just an Assessment Department with a director Frank White has the power to fire. The director serves at the county executive's "pleasure." That low-ball assessment of his house had to be pretty pleasing to Frank.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Frank goes on and on about not being a politician. Well, it does normally take years for most politicians' corruption to come out.

    ReplyDelete
  20. 3 things stood out in this Star article.

1 Mike Sanders was the very first person Frank contacted after hearing about his house being up for auction. Sanders used what was still his considerable political clout to get Frank appointed county executive, though Frank was clearly unqualified for the job. Sanders then got a yet to be explained $60K consulting contract from the county, and $60K seems to be Sanders going rate.

2 Frank's house being under-assessed cheats not just his neighbors but also the local school district and whoever else collects property taxes.

3 Frank White claims this is a personal attack, but doesn't deny he got some generous GIFTS from someone. He must think we're all as stupid as he is.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Frank White leaves out one little detail about why he's planning to still run for county executive next year: HE DESPERATELY NEEDS THE SIX-FIGURE SALARY. That and he needs to work for the county through 2019 to get five years in and qualify for a nice pension.

Seriously, how do you make that kind of money and still have the financial issues that Frank's had or maybe still having? How does he get out from under without his $145K gig from the taxpayers of Jackson County? He's really a con man, saying he's serving the community and giving back when, in fact, he is taking from the community, taking the $145K to save his sorry ass.

  22. @ 7:32--- 3 strikes and you're out! Frank White should submit his resignation.

  23. Geez, where was Mike Sanders and Ken McClain to help me out when I lost my $48,000 a year job in 2011? Oh, that's right I went out and found two jobs so that I wouldn't fall behind on mortgage and property taxes.

    ReplyDelete
  24. 5:51 If nothing else, this tells us Frank White is highly susceptible to taking extremely generous "gifts."

    ReplyDelete
  25. He could probably get job selling cars.

    ReplyDelete
  26. The real story here that most are missing, is not about Frank White.

White was looted by his former brother-in-law who was serving as his financial advisor years ago. This precipitated a divorce, in which he got further screwed financially. He basically had to start over with very little.

His political life is of course a sham, using his baseball fame to collect votes from the ignorant masses. White is voluntarily be steered politically by those behind the scenes to most, like the late Nutter, McClain, and disgraced Sanders. He needs the money.

The real story, and hopefully it's coming, is the depth of corruption involving Sanders, his now-former law firm, Independence/Jackson County politics, the state party, etc. When you follow the money trail you begin to uncover all kinds of illegal activity, and the fact that many of the players involved are attorneys, is not surprising. The recent tidbit about Sanders kickback scheme for personal use of campaign funds was only the appetizer.

  27. Frank White and Mike Sanders, the whole deal between them is starting to look more and more like a pay to play scheme. Frank pays Mike $60,000 and he gets to play county exec and make $145,000. The best part for Frank is that the $60,000 was paid by the county's taxpayers.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I wish I hadn't already paid my Jackson County taxes. I could have just waited until my place was about to be foreclosed on and called Mike Sanders to arrange a little gift.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Fucking hilarious that Tony got more out of this than the Star did.

As for Frank. His Christmas goose is cooked.

    ReplyDelete
  30. This county executive job wasn't enough to bail Frank White out? He still needed how much in "gifts" to save his house? What a deceitful, hypocritical jackass.

If this was all perfectly lawful and ethical, why all the secrecy? Who does Frank White owe and how is he paying them back, since he apparently needs every dime of his 145,000 salary?

    ReplyDelete
  31. Hark, who is that knockin' on the door for Frank White and Mike Sanders? The FBI!

    ReplyDelete
  32. I'm thinking this is why Frank White wants to keep control over the 20-some million dollar COMBAT fund. After this, I wouldn't trust him with access to my cookie jar filled with pennies.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Question for Dan Tarwater and Greg Grounds and the other county legislators, why did you vote to make Frank White county exec in the first place? And Garry Baker has some explaining to do since one of the first things he did after being appointed to fill Frank's spot on the legislature was hire Mike Sanders' wife.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Frank White was a great athlete. Mike Sanders was the ultimate geek. What do they have in common? Arrogance. They probably did all this scheming thinking, "Ah, nobody will ever know."

    ReplyDelete
  35. ^^^ Better question 11:01 is who will be the first to step up and demand Frank's resignation? The clock is ticking.

    ReplyDelete
  36. @ 8:38 This story is very much about Frank White. Frank White and Mike Sanders and Ken McClain. Frank White has been a prick as county executive, acting all pious, saying over and over he's not a politician. Then he pulls strings to get his son a cushy job at the transit authority, which is now being run by another one of Sanders' old lackeys, Robbie Makinen, a guy every bit as unqualified and uneducated as Frank White. Around the same time Frank White is taking what appears to be large sums of money from somebody to keep his house from being foreclosed on. Does the county call everyone the day before their house is about to be auctioned off give them one last warning? Frank is a sham. He needed the money and nobody else was lining up to give him a six-figure salary, other than the rubes in Jackson County.

  37. It’s all so sad.
The players know the legal bills will mean more money to fight the prosecutors and FBI.
What bothers me is how in the heck can anyone say they are guaranteed a job? Yet here is a guy blaming the Royals for losing a job and he still makes great money.
If he is looking for “Sympathy” it is the dictionary between “Shit” and Syphilis “.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Raise your hand if you don't think there was quid pro quo involved here. Frank's already diminished credibility is now completely shot.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Frank White has said repeatedly that people are always asking him why he got involved in county politics. Now it's pretty obvious. He needed the money desperately due to his dire financial straits after he essentially blew it with the Royals. It was kind of a matter of life and death. Now it's apparent that not even $145,000 a year is enough without some help on the side from Sleazy Mike Sanders and his pals.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Frank White has gone from being a Gold Glove 2nd base man to being a 2nd rate scumbag.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Wasn't Frank White's campaign slogan "Send Frank Home"? I guess it should have been "Save Frank's Home."
