TKC CHRISTMAS WISHES: KANSAS CITY CONFRONTS GRIM REALITY OF STEVE KRASKE AGENDA AS WE SLOUCH TOWARD 2018 MIDTERM ELECTION SEASON!!!

Amid plummeting subscriptions and dramatically declining advertising revenue, The Kansas City Star still works to influence the local discourse despite dramatically fading influence. This year FAILED dead-tree media attempts at agenda-setting were defined by pundit and UMKC professor Steve Kraske.

Let's not forget that Steve Krake demanded the rhetorical destruction of an iconic Country Club Plaza landmark in solidarity with and making a false equivalence to Confederate memorials in public squares.

A call to rename J.C. Nichols Fountain fell upon deaf ears and the Parks Board politely ignored the attention-seeking effort that had very little public support . . .

The reality is that local officials are more concerned with keeping this park safe for patrons rather than protecting the feelings of social justice warriors in their retirement.

The only other Kraske column worthy of consideration in all of this year . . .

Professor Kraske followed up his pursuit of progressive politics with a promotional effort of Council Lady Jolie Justus and her mayoral ambitions.

Again, our blog community smacked down this bit of newspaper electioneering and provided the real numbers and a reality check revealing that UNDECIDED voters dominate early Mayoral polling.

Still, the Jolie promo puts us on notice that in the new year Professor Kraske will continue to test the patience of voters who value analytical, entertaining and KICK-ASS examination of local issues over the identity politics utilized by the middle-class petite bourgeoisie.

And all of this is just one aspect of our TKC bloggy vocation which works to fact check and booty slap otherwise unquestioned opinion journalism and provide a resource to local voters who want to understand the politics of Kansas City via our gully behind the scenes perspective.

And so, once again, we wish TKC readers a Merry Christmas while so many local pundits took today off and have been going soft as cookie dough as the prospect of the most divisive Midterm Election season the nation has ever confronted looms ahead.

Hopefully, more for the morning update . . . STAY TUNED!!!

    1. "agenda setting" might be a little bit grandiose.

Think it just has more to do with singing for their supper.

KC Star is controlled by the Mayor's office because of the tax breaks they enjoy. There's no end in sight to the relationship and more than any other factor that influences their reporting and editorial content.

    2. There were a lot of people who actually did support the renaming of the fountain but for a good cause and to help the park, not divide the city - Their efforts weren't served by Kraske who latched on to their work with his own mission to try and keep the spotlight on himself.

  2. The fountain is staying but Jolie is leaving. She will not be elected Mayor. It's a nice Christmas after all! Things are looking up for KCMO.

  3. Oh if only you had some ideas Tony. You should follow Brad Millison's example.

Let him be your inspiration, Tony. Follow in his footsteps. Live the dream of cutting your wrists, or sitting in the garage in a running car, or turning the gas on, or jumping off a freaking bridge for all I care.

But follow his example. Take his lead.

The sooner the better. End your misery. Ease your pain.

    1. ^^^ LOL. You spent your Christmas with Tony and now you're talking about suicide. That sounds like a rough life. Sorry. This cracks me up but it might not work out so well for you. I read TKC for the links, titties and butt cheeks, but you might want to find a sense of humor @7:40 or maybe get a new hobby that doesn't make you so angry. Merry Christmas, bitch.

  4. Jolie eats a lot of pussy. I would like to vote for her but I think she is too close to Sly and his agenda. Even though Jolie eats a lot of pussy, she is not honest enough to be mayor.

    1. Ain't nothing wrong with eating pussy. If that's what we're basing mayoral votes on, she's in the lead.

  6. Professor Kraske or Professor Plum- it’s a who did it game.
KC Star castoffs have a right to redivide... I mean re-define their body of work... their life's purpose.
At least he can string sentences together without alienating an entire race...unlike those who the editorial board is comprised of can do.
As the supporting cast of driveway papers rolled up in orange plastic is reduced even less... we will see former scribes who can’t hack private or public entities become lost- hopelessly- in blogs and realize they can’t support themselves on musings that they felt the world would pay to hear their voices.
As we begin 2018- ask yourself if you know anyone who would actually pay for what is free on the web? Then if you are insulted time and time again (think editorial board)- why would you give tax breaks to these people!
Time will take care of the situation... sit back and watch as they have no idea what they are doing nor how to stop their demise... at least the orange wrappers won’t litter the landscape much longer.
I used to read the paper... when my neighbor woke up late. Now he does not subscribe.

  8. Kraske is a has been who sold his journalistic integrity for acceptance in his two loony left side gigs at KCUR and UMKC. He embraced them when he thought his job at The Star was going down the tubes and he’s been worthless ever since. Like an aged whore he plies his trade at ever seedier levels. Truly sad.

  9. 7:47 So you’re saying that Jolie eats at the Y are you?

  10. Kraske thinks so much of KCMO, where he picks up his check from UMKC, that he Ives in Fairway, KS. He's a worthless kibitzer, whose shallow opinion pieces are of no value.

Don't forget, when he had Roger Stone on his radio show he asked no substantive questions the entire show. Kraske, please go back to Iowa!!! kCUR... You should be ashamed!!!

  13. In order to believe that the official vote tallies are legitimate, you have to accept that all of the above legitimately happened: African-Americans in the south went from turning out in droves for Hillary Clinton in the primary to not caring if she won the general election. Donald Trump got sixty-something percent of the same-day voting in Florida. The polling averages were wrong for the first time in modern history. Trump beat his poll numbers despite having spent the primary season tending to fall below them. Clinton fell below her poll numbers despite having spent the primary season tending to beat them. In every state where Trump pulled off a shocking upset victory, he just happened to do it with one percent of the vote. And in an election that everyone cared particularly deeply about, no one really turned out to vote at all. I can accept any one of the above things happening as an isolated fluke. I cannot accept all the above happening. And so for once in my evidence-driven career, I’m left to believe that the conspiracy theorists are right: the vote tallies are rigged.

Maybe. But there are other factors
Between both Clinton and trump, more than 130 million votes were cast
That tells me that people who haven't voted in years, did.
Also, Wisconsin Michigan and Pennsylvania went for trump. States pretty much run by democrats. That tells me that people who didn't care in the past, voted trump just enough for him to win the states
    Personally, I don't think it's a conspiracy
I'd say given the choice if the two it came down to "we don't know what we'll get but we know what we've had"

  15. Steve Kraske ‘s only agenda is to lick as many liberal buttholes as he can.

  16. Kraske is okay, not great but okay. Some of u just take this stuff too seriously. It's a joke, all of these "great reports" are just biased hit pieces and planted garbage. Steve's work is a symptom of the trend but he's hardly the worst offender.

  17. will just have to put up with Kraske on KCIR cause dont listen to radio and just got my Star bill so that is history. no wounder the star is going down they think it is printed on gold leaf

    1. ^^^ 10th visit on Christmas. Possibly this blog's biggest fan. And potential stalker. Be careful TKC, anybody who is going to spend all of Christmas with you is something a little bit worse than a hater or a critic. Maybe kind of obsessed.

Hey man, don't harsh my mellow. I have to visit my family today so that i can at least I can see my little guy before his mom and her new boyfriend more to another state. It's gonna be a nice Christmas. I hope I'm not too late!

  20. Kraske should stick to writing history where facts are generally more reliable. Someone who uses hearsay in a hit-piece is not to be trusted with contemporary journalism.
