TKC QUESTION: SHOULD KANSAS CITY 'HOME OF THE CHIEFS' TAKE OFFENSE TO PREZ TRUMP POCAHONTAS SLUR???
More than most Midwestern cities, Kansas City has a very real connection with Native American culture . . . For better or worse, Native American iconography and references are part of the local discourse and this town's history - Legendary KCMO Mayor H. Roe Bartle called himself "The Chief" and he actually had a profound interest in early American tribes that he incorporated into his Boy Scout volunteerism.
And so, the latest culture war debate betwixt progressives crying foul over an insensitive remark from Prez Trump and supporters of the Commander-In-Chief arguing against the hypocrisy of self-righteous identity politics indignation has dominated recent social media slap fighting . . .
CBS: Trump makes "Pocahontas" remark, referring to Sen. Warren, at Navajo code talkers event
VOA: Native Americans Outraged Over Trump ‘Pocahontas’ Comments
FOX: Press blasts Trump for ‘Pocahontas’ reference, but ignores Warren's cultural appropriation
And so we ask our TKC Blog Community residing in the so-called "Chiefs Kingdom" during an embarrassing losing streak . . .
WAS PREZ TRUMP WRONG TO HURL POCAHONTAS SLUR AGAINST SEN. WARREN DURING TRIBUTE TO NAVAJO CODE TALKER VETERANS?!?!?
Again, supporters will attack Sen. Warren and dodge the initial question of inappropriate language . . . And so the debate is not only over political correctness but also political swagger jacking.
You decide . . .
