TKC MUST SEE!!! KANSAS CITY AIRPORT VOTE PUBLIC TV DOCUMENTARY!!!

Behind the scenes . . . This is basically Crosby Kemper III and last remnants of Kansas City old money pushing their perspective on the airport that's WAAAAAAAAAAY too parochial, tedious and bland to influence the upcoming vote.

To be fair, I don't know how they could have spiced it up without adding a few of the rare sex scenes from Downton Abbey wherein the inbred upper-class shag their servants.

But I digress . . .

Right now it's burning up the charts with about 150 Youtube views. And I'm sure it'll be must-see TV for those two dozen people who watch KCPT tonight.

Nevertheless . . .

THIS IS PROBABLY THE ONLY OBJECTIVE REPORTING ON THE NEW AIRPORT FOR KANSAS CITY VOTERS!!!

Take a look:

You decide . . .

Comments

  1. I like it.

It can't be all fireworks and titties.

Really great documentary and well worth a look for those who want to be informed about Question 1.

  2. Clusterfuck City

  3. New Single Terminal will reduce our homicide rates too!

  4. Amazing job. Sly and Troy run for cover while everyone else on the Council admits they f'd up the whole thing. Only a large turnout can stop the madness on Tuesday.

  5. I liked it too, the problem is the vote is still going on. At anytime during all this it could and should have been stopped dead in its tracks but it looks like the council, mayor and fat boy Troy said one thing and did the opposite. And why is Lucas acting like he’s against it when his own pastor is in the new airport commercials???

  6. if no tax payer money is going to be used than why do we have to vote on it ?

  7. Don't believe it for a moment. No responsible financial source would consider making loans based solely on something as volatile as airline revenue "fees and taxes".

Either the Airport will be saddled with astronomical debt service costs (and revenue-killing ticket add-ons) or the City's taxing powers have to somehow stand as the ultimate guarantor of the financing.

Remodeling can be financed by the City's issuance of Airport Revenue Bonds, just as the original construction was. The City could have opted to finance the construction of a new Airport by this method, but it carries with it the requirements of Public Disclosure and oversight by Securities Regulators, and for some unknown reason neither the City Government or the Developers wanted this sort of transparency.

  8. How much help/how many problems could be fixed with the money they are wasting on the 2 to 4 page color brochures I am receiving every day. How many hundreds of thousands of our tax dollars are being wasted on this BS.

  9. sLIE will do anything at any cost to get his name on that airport, his legacy in his mind is worth billions of hard working taxpayer dollars, the dollars 100% of the people in this city pays for but yet only 12% of the people use the airport. His ego is writing checks his fat ass doesn’t have to pay for

  10. ^^^ Absolutely correct.

Personally, I liked the style of the documentary and thought it did a great job of conveying the facts. But we're not living in an era when facts matter. All that matters is facebook and twitter. Such a shame that most people won't take the time to learn about an issue before they form an opinion. At least this video is out there to offer some great information.

  11. It's only out there if you share the crap out of it.

  12. Nice video!

Excellent comments from Council members Loar, Lucas, and especially Barnes.

James, Schulte, and Justus are CORRUPT, and should have been removed from their positions, barred from working/representing KCMO ever again.

  13. KCPT forgot to mention that Burns & Mac's partner, Michael Merriman, tried to sneak a cool extra $300 Million out of the deal with Sly and Troy, over drinks at the River Club!

    ReplyDelete
  14. B&M's tiny 20K donation will merely come out of the campaign donations scheduled for the folks who failed to deliver the KCI deal.

  15. Crosby did a great job. Let some of the corporate types pretend this away, same the Star. We were not better off to see no options. Is it just me or do Sly and Shulte look more like bs artists trying to get away with something every time you see them. The Chamber looking the other way is disgraceful.

    ReplyDelete
  16. ..... but Troy and Sly wanted to be players. Rush jobs and not seeing options are rotten and where were the leaders of black boxes like Marc. The Chamber, other regional majors who represent constituencies. As in Kansas, State of Missouri, Lees Summit, just keep going. And the farce of them pushing to represent more of kc in a one city power play while doing that. We are also sure that Sly and Troy have done their best to punish any who called for an integrity process.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Not representing the people and integrity will hurt the Star. Key weaknesses are already glaringly showing up. Autonomous tech is on threshold of major design upheaval for setting futures a few years out. Amazon would want deliberate input in a design. Tech is about to change processes within airports. Part of the problem is the shoddy approach of how the Burns and Mac makeover was done. Church of the ressurrection cost something like 90 million. I am sure their development plan was deliberate over 2 years or something too. A rush is how you make big mistakes.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Next time Troy acts like he might quit say please. He is very replaceable. Seeing Sly and Troy make shit sausage has gotten old. Time for the public gong.

    ReplyDelete
  19. And Justice as Troy and Sly's lap dog from Crooks Hardly Fakin is about to find being a syncophant is a career limiting move. Should have picked integrity and professionalism over Sly and Troy.

    ReplyDelete
  20. They basically have Kc voting on an empty financing shell. There is no complete plan there. If there is tell me what Amazon dimension is, what changes to tech processes have been made, how autonomous is factored into designs and how it impacted changes representing likely future state ten years out. It is an empty pork wrapper.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Then for high comedy Rockhurst gives Sly an ethics award. Rockhurst thanks for the laugh track, explain this one to the kids. Reardon fronting for fixes is no exemplar either. Rockhurst examine thyself.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Sly fat assed half baked international pork airport. You voting for that man with a hollow plan.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I have no idea of his ethics or qualifications, but I came out of watching this documentary with a favorable impression of Quinton Lucas as a viable Mayoral candidate.

As least he has the potential NOT to be an embarrassment when speaking or appearing publicly in the way that James, Funkhouser, and Barnes were and are.

I can't imagine him demeaning himself and humiliating the City in the that the current occupant did with the Amazon Review stunt.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Well, we've already seen Troy Schulte throwing a pissy little tantrum over this issue, haven't we?

Hopefully the "no" vote will be large enough that City Hall will be afraid to phoney it up into passage, and we'll all be able to sit around and watch an outraged Troy "hold his breath until he turns Blue", and also see Slick "hold his breath until he turns"... gee, I don't know... Indigo, maybe?

  25. First the Empire was attacked by strafing fire. Darth Sly James Vader was fronting the Chamber command from the Board of the Chamber. But then, Tracy hit the perimeter defenses with detail on how the fix was in, then Tony provided several pieces. Clay came out and pressed for a petition against Sly, further weakening the corporate force field. Then from a slew of bloggers came the comparisons, the fix was in, there was a horrible evaluation underway with forced conclusion not at all a part of a professional process with correct time, expertise, or procedure to be a good example of anything. With minor strafing attacks, Troy and Sly were losing their poise.

The Chamber sat on the sidelines, replaying a milquetoast presentation, but behind the scenes they were lining up their Corporate Bombers. The attack was coordinated, the plans show of force was ready, steamroll in the best of corporate traditions, or was that the worst of corporate traditions. The Chamber took their orders from the pour cement crowd, the Area Economic Development Council, lead by fearless representatives such as KCPL, Mark One, Crooks Hardly Fakin, and a few others. The big dogs came out and worked their jaws a piece, suggesting to their minions that they might want to vote as the corporate plantation masters thought best.

1.6 million, and 1700 storm troopers, the Empire was formidable. But lo and behold, the Crosby Kemper pulled down the force field with a simple video. Suddenly a taxpayer campaign unleashed forthright bulletins, the blogosphere started talking in detail about how poor the review had been going, and how wrong the process was. The City Manager hussied, he doesn't like a question at all about a 1.2 billion shell of a plan. How dare you point out he knows little of what he is ramrodding. The public got their dander up, contrary to the campaign hopes of the corporate swells. The public does not like corruption, arrogance, slam fixes, fake processes, being locked out of participation, and decisions made for the benefit of others besides the people of Kansas City.

The force was strong, the Empire was now getting slapped around at will. The ultimate contest of the vote was to come. Suddenly the Star shifted to neutrality as they saw the spirit of the public and the intelligence of the questions at hand. No quality process runs like this and that is the bottom line.

Luke Skywalker intends to put a few rhetorical missiles in the bloated Empire. Right now the public is reminded, they have the power to send the message that doing things the right way is the only way they will accept. Gong the Mayor, Gong the Chamber, Gong Troy and his tantrums, gong the monopoly utility, gong arrogance of telling employees how to vote, they are grown ups and you are entering the political octagon.

So you mean to tell me that a rag tag motley crew is about to potentially get energized and serve the asshats of City hall and their puppetmasters, yep, it might just happen. Hard to believe with a 100-1 cash advantage the bigs might just get their asses handed to them. Vote, vote no, vote no and tell the asshats that rigged corrupt deals don't fly, nor do preposterously structured planning and evaluation approaches. We the people just served the asshats.
