TKC MUST READ!!! CRAIG GLAZER ARGUES FOR KANSAS CITY CHIEFS QB SWITCHEROO AND PATRICK MAHOMES OPPORTUNITY!!!

Right now, our pal Craig Glazer proves to be the voice of local football fans as he shares this DEFINITIVE analysis of a tough decision confronting the Kansas City Chiefs . . .

Craig Glazer: Why Not Pat Mahomes? Is It Business Or Is It Football?

It would seem the majority of Chiefs observers and NFL watchdogs realize its time for the Kansas City Chiefs to replace Alex Smith with Pat Mahomes.

There is no football logic at this time to 'not' move forward with Pat. Why? First off HE IS YOUR FUTURE STARTER AND LOOKED GREAT IN PRESEASON... He is ready, confident and has all the tools that Alex now lacks: a super strong throwing arm, very accurate especially downfield, players step up around him, he is very fast when he has to run with the ball, he is bigger, stronger and just has more natural talent than Alex has or ever had.

Most important:

YOUR TEAM IS IN DEEP TROUBLE, YOU HAVE LOST 4 OF THE LAST 5,HAVE ALMOST NO OFFENSE TODAY, CAN'T SCORE IN THE RED ZONE SAVE FIELD GOALS, ALEX SEEMS TO HAVE LOST CONFIDENCE, ALEX IS NOT ON IT FOR THE LONG BALL ANYMORE, YOU HAVE 6 GAMES LEFT AND RIGHT NOW THE ONLY TEAM IN OUR DIVISION YOU ARE BETTER THAN IS DENVER, THE CHARGERS ARE ON THE MOVE AND COULD TAKE THE DIVISION FROM YOU IF YOU KEEP LOSING....

The team lacks energy and Pat could bring that with him. What do you have to lose? You still have Alex behind Pat if he doesn't get it done. Smith can always come back this year. Pat might win out and the Chiefs could be a 'real' playoff contender, right now they are a low level playoff team at best. We need help and now.

So why don't they make the move? Does Clark Hunt and Andy Reid really think Alex is better? Answer is no!!!!! So why is Smith still the starter?

Simple: MONEY.

Alex still has one year left on his contract for 17 million dollars. The Chiefs plan to trade him in the off season for money and perhaps a few draft picks we desperately need. Remember we gave up the ranch to get Pat. If the Chiefs bench Alex and start Pat the buyers can say: "why should we pay you much for a back up quarterback that even you benched"...right. Now that price tag may fall to just a few million and no draft picks. I think that's the reason.

Lets face it Clark and Andy had pretty much written off this season as a 'hey we might be a wild card at best' year. You can see that with their poor draft other than Mahomes. It was clear our defense was poor and in many spots old and wounded like linebacker: DJ badly hurt and 35 is no longer a solid middle linebacker, Dee Ford is a bust, Justin Houston's knee is still badly injured and he just isn't the same guy. We have no real pass defenders of note save Marcus Peters before the season began and we lose Eric Berry game one. Our offensive line is below average and Eric Fisher is becoming a joke. You have two receivers in Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce everyone else is a maybe or could have been. Before we got 5 great games out of Kareem Hunt we had no running back, Spencer Ware was horrid last year. The list goes on and on....so clearly the front office didn't plan for the Chiefs to be a super bowl contender as they were for the first month of the season at 5-0. The trade deadline came and went and we did nothing! Oh we just got Darrelle Revis, likely too little too late, but a nice try for no money.

So is it a surrender this season for the next few? Looks that way. Even if Smith continues to fail would Andy be allowed to put in Pat? Perhaps not. Lets face it this team was not a real contender when the season started, a miracle took place and some guys showed up from another world for 5 games, then they flew back home. Is Pat Mahomes really superman? I say LETS FIND OUT while we are still in this thing. Remember Pat played with the second team in preseason and the 3rd and 4th team guys. Lets see what he can do with Hill, Kelce, Hunt and the guys who we can't use much. Lets find out.

  1. Cosign all of this.

Furthermore, the reason that we're at this point is because of Reid's indecision and coddling Smith.

The season can be saved but Smith MUST Go.

    1. ^^^ A little cryptic but probably right. Smith has a good working relationship with Reid but it doesn't translate on the field.

Trade Marcus Peters and all of the team's problems will be solved. They're cursed as long as that traitor is still around.

  2. Can't argue here at all. Craig nailed it. Smith is not the guy to take the Chiefs beyond the 1st round of the playoffs. He's just not that type of QB. Nothing against him, he could probably still play in the league for a few more years a backup. But as a starter for the Chiefs, he had his chance and now it's time to look elsewhere.

    1. Nicely work Craig. Absolutely right about the direction of this season. If the team loses in San Diego, things will really start to get bleak.

  3. KC has been playing this game with fans for years. It's always about a new QB or a defensive star. They agonize of the decision, create some drama and finally do what they were supposed to do in the first place but way too late for it to make a difference. THen after the playoff loss it's nothing but rinse and repeat.

^^Der Fuhrer has ordered that we not watch. So, I'm watching.

Nice article, Craig. I agree with your analysis.

In small markets it's not about winning, because it's not really possible. It's only about making money. Fans drift away when ownership gives up the illusion of attempting to field a winning team.

AS a child, as was a huge Pittsburgh Pirates fan, then watched management accept twenty losing seasons in a row. One year, they jettisoned the entire starting roster. It was a financial decision.

The best piece of advice Andy Reid ever got was when John Cheney told him to never listen to the fans. And he doesn't.

  8. Smith isn’t the problem. The offensive line is worthless and so is the secondary. Craig should stick to what he is uniquely qualified to do, ratting out drug dealers

  18. Craig sits around his golden ghetto overpriced townhouse in his underwear kissing his dogs while reading and watching to see what everyone else says about the Chumps. Then he rolls out this turd of a story making you all think it's his thoughts when we all know they are not. His KCC stories rank right along with this one, a loser acting like he knows whats best for some other losers.

  19. Der Funkhouser demonstrates that he is particularly ignorant of football. He misses the chance to berate the Chiefs for denigrating Native Americans.

  26. 7:06 I had already seen this so called break down on many other sites and sport shows all week long. So your point is?
My point is this so call squirrel Craig Glazer is still pulling his so called stings on people, only now he uses people like Hearne and Botello to do so. Never seen an original idea out of this fool's head, he steals other ideas and tries to sell them as his own. I heard he doesn't even own his own club anymore, so he failed at that also.

That fucking snitch bitch Glazer know about as much about football as a tumble bug trying to roll a dried dog turd.

Go ahead and put Mahomes in there behind that line and he won't last two games. Furthermore, snitch bitch, if you watched Mahomes in college, he throws it up if anyone is within 5 yards of him and yells "snitch".

No, Snitch Bitch, stick to what you know. Cheap black hookers and watered down drinks at a Kansas dive that smells like wino piss.
