TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! COUNCIL DUDE JERMAINE REED CONFRONTS ETHICS QUESTIONS OVER NEW AIRPORT PROMO FUNDED BY THE HEAVIES DESPITE KANSAS CITY 3RD DISTRICT QUESTION 1 SKEPTICISM!!!

Councilman Jermaine Reed believes he can be the next Mayor of Kansas City with the help of a diverse coalition of supporters and their unifying rage against Prez Trump. Meanwhile, most local political denizens think that he's just trying to line up a job after he's termed out.

Whatever the case, the latest Internets blast from the 3rd District representative is drawing criticism . . .

COUNCIL DUDE JERMAINE REED SERVING AS SPOKESMODEL FOR A SKETCHY BIT OF QUESTION #1 PROPAGANDA HAS CONSTITUENTS CONCERNED!!!

Take a look:

The advert is funded by "America Forward" - A low rent PAC run out of a Midtown shanty. The only contribution to the organization in the latest campaign finance reporting period is $3K from The Heavy Constructions Association Of Greater Kansas City.

Documentation . . .

Legal political money laundering questions aside . . .

In addition to the fact that voter turnout projections for the upcoming election in the 3rd, 5th & 6th Districts are pathetic. There has been quite a bit of skepticism about the REALITY OF NEW AIRPORT JOB CREATION FOR THE URBAN CORE VS. MORE EMPTY PROMISES FROM CAMPAIGNERS. Translation: City Hall almost never lives up to MBE/WBE hiring requirements and the numbers are usually FAKED with payoffs going to a few politically connected shell companies but very few jobs employing skilled laborers.

Faking MBE/WBE participation is a Kansas City construction fact of life and only consultant dweebs who have never been to a building site or bother to do their own lawn work claim otherwise.

Still, the effort to buy votes by way of cash heavy electioneering continues as the real battle over KC's New Airport Question #1 is working to effectively fund and inspire greed through low-rent local chieftains who are desperate to find support.

  2. What he has done here is illegal and a clear ethic violation. He should be sanctioned by the MEC!

  3. What's funny about all this is that it doesn't matter what Kansas City voters decide. If it doesn't pass than the port authority will take it over and do it "privately" with taxpayers still on the hook. This election is the most massively rigged thing Kansas City has ever seen. It's already just a trough with taxpayers picking up the check for the biggest companies in the metro - And most of their executives live in Johnson County.

The feeding frenzy can't be stopped. I wish it could but it's not just a question of standing in line to get a handout. You can't blame Jermaine for any of his actions, at least he's first among his peers.

  12. Yes, there's no better strategy for running for municipal office than to rage against the president who heads a federal administration that the city will have to ask repeatedly for grants and other financial assistance.
Sly's already poisoned the well at both the federal and state levels by his over-the-top campaigning for Hillary and his lecturing the legislature on gun control instead of doing his job locally to make public safety a top priority.
The 84% of residents of the metro who DON"T live in KCMO once again congratulate themselves on making that very very good choice.
It's amazing how many clowns can fit in that little car!
