A special thanks to denizens of our AWESOME TKC BLOG COMMUNITY for sharing this note on the continued crisis ensnaring Jackson County elected politicos and embattled institutions.

Today's shocker . . .

JACKSON COUNTY PROSECUTOR "MEAN" JEAN PETERS BAKER SMACKS DOWN EXEC FRANK WHITE'S INVITATION TO PARTICIPATE IN THE JAIL TASK FORCE!!!

In a scathing and strongly worded letter, the top law lady in Kansas City shares her opinion supported by a litany of inconvenient facts which necessitate a move on the jail that's more substantial than just another committee . . .

Check the note . . .

From Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker . . .

Dear County Executive Frank White:

I am writing to inform you that I am declining your invitation to serve on a new task force regarding the Jackson County Detention Center. The recent brutal assault of a corrections officer has prompted me to re-evaluate my participation.

It's clear that action is required immediately. Community input may be helpful in guiding your staff regarding impacts related to long-term solutions. But action is required now to fix the immediate problems at the jail. The jail experts who advise the County Legislature were very clear earlier this year that the overcrowded conditions and poor staffing were a crisis that needed to be addressed immediately. They recommended closing a part of the jail until those conditions could be remedied. Spending more time to further study the overcrowded and unsafe conditions at the detention center is simply inappropriate . . ."

Here's the letter from the Prosector's Office Website . . .

And so . . .

The crisis at the jail worsens an ongoing impasse among elected officials which now falls completely on Exec Frank White - As his baseball legend has now been obscured by a local management crisis.

  10. Beware and take care when living, driving or doing business in Jackson County. A clever Executive is running the County and is clearly in denial about the true criminal element.
