The Rock Creek wind farm in Atchison County, which is now Missouri's largest wind farm, is officially online after a year of construction. The $500 million project was put together by Lenexa-based Tradewind Energy Inc. and constructed by Enel Green Power North America. It can generate 300 megawatts of electricity, enough to power 100,000 homes.

Kansas City police are investigating after a RideKC passenger apparently grabbed the steering wheel of the bus, forcing the driver to stop. Investigators said the passenger wanted off the bus Wednesday morning, but it was not near a designated stop. Bus drivers can only let people on and off at designated stops, which upset the man.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - After launching its Uber-like service in May 2017, the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority is now hoping to expand RideKC Freedom to the entire region. The service is currently offered to the elderly and riders with and without disabilities in two pilot program areas in Kansas City.

The Kansas City Royals extended one-third of the nine qualifying offers MLB players received this offseason. Franchise stalwarts Eric Hosmer, Lorenzo Cain and Mike Moustakas each landed the one-year, $17.4 million offer. All three are expected to reject them - as are the other six, according to Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports.

  2. No Taxpayer Dollars Thrown Away!

    Kansas City International Airport has a fleet of 28 compressed natural gas buses to reduce reliance on traditional fossil fuels, but now it’s planning to add a new component to that fleet: electric shuttle buses.

    The City Council is set to consider an ordinance to approve the purchase of four battery-electric buses from BYD Motors, a southern California electric vehicle manufacturer, for $1.8 million. The measure is expected to go to the Council’s Transporation and Infrastructure Committee after the Thanskgiving holiday.
