Kraske Questions Kansas City Violence

Familiar agonizing over urban core crime from the perspective of one of the many suburbanites who dominate the newspaper intelligentsia. Take a look:

The big question facing Kansas City: Why are we so violent?

There we were back in 2011, named in another list of America's most violent cities. We were No. 9 in that year's U.S. News & World Report ranking. Our crime rate, the magazine noted, "is three times the national average." In 2015, we were No. 10, based on FBI statistics.

  1. Why?

Lack of self-respect. Therefore no respect for others. This attitude is the basis to the crime... a disregard for life. No thought of the consequences to living a life of crime.

Mothers, fathers, brothers and sisters condone criminality in their homes and in the community. Just ask the barbers and beauticians about "what they hear in their shops"

Doesn't take more money to figure out what needs to change. It's the attitude in the homes and the community that needs to change.

  2. Why is a white idiot asking why we’re so violent? Don’t include white people in your stupid but obvious question. Just ask the blacks you moron!

  5. "We" aren't. White people are not. Hispanics are not. Asians are not. Filipinos are not. Hmong are not. Polynesians are not. Inuit are not. It is one people and one people only. Black people. They commit the vast majority of crime in this city, in other cities, and this country. Twelve percent of our population commits most of the crime in this country. Don't call me racist, prove me wrong.

    1. I wish you were right, but don’t think the blacks aren’t starting to invade JoCo too. Krapske is just looking for another pot to stir until fountain weather is here again.

  8. Yep, 5:10^^ answered most of the WHY KILLA CITY'S SO VIOLENT, so tell CDC to keep their money for better use. But, remember, Steamin' Krapske sez he wants a fountain renamed to revise history and fix feelings around here.

  9. The KCPD must get some of the blame. For years they spent most of their time generating revenue from traffic tickets while ignoring real crime. Now it's out of control and they have no answers.

  10. Violence is magnified when one can easily use more than a stick.
