KCPS Stays Winning Provisional Accreditation

Here's the closest thing to "progress" our embattled local school system has seen in at least a generation. Celebrate the lower bar thanks to more than a generation of decline . . .

Kansas City Public Schools Keeps Provisional Accreditation, But There's Work To Be Done

Kansas City Public Schools scored fewer points than it did last year under Missouri's statewide accountability system but stayed solidly in the provisionally accredited range, according to data released Wednesday by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. District officials say there's a lot to celebrate, including a four-year graduation rate that's up over 70 percent and gains on state science tests.

  1. Incredible that we see all this spin and bullshit about what a tech savy, progressive, liberal city this is and these toothless dregs think a provisional accreditation gives teh district bragging rights. For the money this school district costs we could have bought off the stakeholders and big wigs and got a full accreditation.

  2. Great. The KCPS has kept their "barely making it" accreditation.

    Certainly cause for celebration.
