Local MSM has pretty much ignored a historic moment in American politics and the implication that the reign of Prez Trump has for Kansas City.
One year after the defeat of former SecState, Senator and First Lady Hillary Clinton these things have come to pass in KCMO . . .
- Kansas City women have protested against Prez Trump en masse and organized EPIC meetings to complain about the Commander-In-Chief which still didn't help Hillary Shields beat some old mean dude in Missouri.
- There is a promise of $1-TRILLION for infrastructure across the nation but not a lot of deets on how that cash will be spent.
- The local murder count in Kansas City is HIGHER than it was during the election year despite more cash from the Trump Administration to study local crime.
Here's are links from a variety of different perspectives given that local news is too busy thinking about the weather and/or transcribing City Hall pressers:
Fox News: For Trump, the 2016 election is ever-present
NBC: What Trump’s Delivered – And What He Hasn’t
CBS: One year later, Americans sound off on Trump presidency
Huff Post: One Year Later, The Trump Nightmare Is As Horrific As Many Of Us Imagined
Rolling Stone: A Year After Trump's Election, Nothing Has Changed
Developing . . .
KC is slightly better but a lot more frustrated.
ReplyDeleteLife in Parkville is still just fine and dandy.
Kansas City is worse but not because of Trump. Sly and the council have become more worthless and dishonest in the last year.
ReplyDelete"It's the economy stupid."
ReplyDeleteYes, he is doing a good job.
My 401K says he's doing a good job.
ReplyDeleteSame here, 8:17. And, much to the libs’ irritation, the world hasn’t imploded. As a matter of fact, I think a lot of the libs’ hypocritical self-righteousness is coming to light with the crumbling of Hollywood.
DeleteKC will always be worse a year after a presidential election simply because everyone pays attention to that and vote but don’t care about the local elections at all. The local elections, school issues, and judge selections have a much greater effect on everyone that the daily presidential activities.
ReplyDeleteBetter. No question. Obama and Bush were toxic.
ReplyDeleteThe protests are an anathema. Has he divided more people? There is a good argument that people were pretty divided before his election. If people are going to judge him on the stock market, then they have to accept his responsibility if the market goes down which it might. I'm waiting to see if he can make some of his bigger promises happen but it won't be overnight. The recent election losses the Republicans took last night should have everyone concerned, even some of the mainstream Democratic Party leaders. There is a strong resentment against the status quo, President Trump started the trend but he won't be the end of it.
ReplyDeleteDon't blame me, I voted for The General!

ReplyDeletestock market at record highs..
unemployment at record lows..
M A G A!
The stock market and unemployment were at record levels before Trump. So far, the trend continues and the Obama economy continues on autopilot. But Trump did not campaign on helping Goldman Sachs and other wall street bankers. He had his own agenda that was supposed to help main street.
ReplyDeleteInstead of implementing MAGA, Obamacare is still there. NAFTA still there. China currency manipulator still there. No tax cuts passed. No new trade deals. No new tariffs. Industrial jobs and rural areas are still lagging the rest of the country. Wages are still flat. Still nearly 100 million Americans not in the work force.
US backed wars in Afghan & Iraq still expanding and now spread to Yemen and northern Africa. North Korea testing nukes and missiles more than ever before. No feds sent to Chicago or anywhere else to stop crime in cities. Opioid crisis continues everywhere.
What's has to disappoint his supporters is there is no change in swamp, except that Trump's family and cronies are the ones personally lining their pockets at our expense.
I can take comfort in that Trump has not fucked up America thoroughly, but only because his administration and Congress are completely inept.
MAGA has become Morons Are Governing America. Sad.
Better than having a nigger president
DeleteAll of the LIBERAL Democrats controlled cities will continue to be violent shit hole KILLA CITY dumps . The white suburbs , and fly over country will thrive and grow and resist the inner city youth scholar's hood rats that want to KILLA CITY anyone who's WHITE ! ¡

ReplyDelete@9:30
butt hurt sore loser Democrat snowflake melting down.
too funny
9:30 exactly right. Finally, someone on this blog who actually understands data and facts and has read a book in their life.
ReplyDeleteYeah, so 9:30 read that choom inspired "Dreaming Up A Father". Or, was it the crybabying crook's "WTF Happened??" Either one, is crammed with authenticated fantasy, er, facts, and has extensive delusions, uh, um, data.
DeleteThe swamp needs to be drained in KCMO
ReplyDeleteUnemployment is better and the stock market is up.
ReplyDeleteOne year later libtards still manage to piss and moan about everything on the face of the earth except handouts and entitlements.
ReplyDeleteLet's see what happens to the economy in 2018, 2019 and 2020 when the largest portions of the Retail Store Debt start coming due. The Retail delinquencies are already over a billion, and less than 10% of the debt they were saddled with during the Leveraged Buyout rage in the early 2000s has come due yet.
ReplyDeleteWe may see problems that make the 1987 Reagan Depr... oops, I mean RECESSION look like one of the three minor Recessions we had during the Eisenhower years.
As a retired broker, I urge those of you celebration the wonderful shape your 401K is now in to start thinking about shifting your holdings into Federal Debt Instruments.
Yeah, 10:30 is a "retired broker" - selling tickets to the community playhouse and music concerts.
ReplyDelete^ Byron won't just jack you off, he'll give you a blow job too.
ReplyDeleteGoing to be better when Billary is arrested early next year.
ReplyDeleteTrump is a non factor in Kansas City.
ReplyDelete
ReplyDeleteIf you don't read or expose yourself to any news of any kind, this Presidency is either good for us or a non-factor.
But that's if you have no idea what's occurred in the last year.
