The reality of this "agreement" is that when the Council passes this by accelerated/emergency ordinance, none of the legal safeguards or contractual consequences can be exercised . . . A minimum of 35 percent participation by minority- and women-owned firms is included in a proposed memorandum of understanding outlining terms and details of the roughly $1 billion single-terminal Kansas City International Airport modernization project to be completed by the Edgemoor Infrastructure & Real Estate LLC team.

  3. These promises to utilize MBE abd WBE companies are always made to get projects approved. When it comes timee to put up and do business with the companies the contractors just buy from whomever they always buy from in their good Ole boy network. The small, minority, and woman owned businesses get screwed over once again.
    The building and operating of the Sprint Center and P & L district is a prime example.
