Fear Kansas City 'Community Policing' Decline

Neighborhood advocacy from this community news outlet . . .

"Through the years and a number of PD command changes, KCPD continued to voice their “support” for community-oriented policing. Apparently under that model, a blue Crown-Vic rolling through a neighborhood with the windows rolled down was community policing."

It wasn't always like this

  1. Snitches get stitches. Oh yea, community policing will work really well in Dindu neighborhoods.

  3. There was a time when the Northeast was populated by working people. Then a Federal Judge seized control of the KC School District and started bussing kids out of their neighborhoods in order to worship at the feet of "Almighty Desegregation"!
    (How'd that work out, anyway?)
As a result, anyone who cared about their kids, and to be fair, anyone who COULD leave, left for places where their kids were more than some sort of counters in a desperate "Here You Go, now Please Stop Rioting" Political Game!
Then the Fed started paying Catholic and Jewish "Charities" $15,000 a head to "sponsor" (i.e. - fly in, get a SS number, hand them a Driver's License, dump them in a cheap apartment) REFUGEES!
Naturally, these "god people" didn't want the "poor people they were helping out" anywhere near them, so they were dumped in the Northeast!

Sad, but sorry Pendleton Heights, unfortunately very, very true!

That, and not anything the KCPD has done, is the real reason for the increased levels of crime there.

  4. Who needs community policing when the blingy thingys is bringing peace, love, and big bucks jobs to errbody metrowide. Thanks to the coming Billion bucks new single-terminal airport of hazy dollars and design details, a TooT LooT 2 mile relic-styled rail runner, a red-ink P&L party place, a tax dodged Plaza, some moneypit Jazzy joints, and more. Those many millions of monthly tourists are magically making Killa City, er, uh, KindKC...THE PARIS OF THE PLAINS! OUI?

  5. I grew up in Old Northeast when it was a real neighborhood with working families and some level of civilized behavior. Drive up and down the streets of the area now and be sad for what you see.

  6. Give me a break. The NE has been a shithole for at least 50 years.

  7. 10:58, Wrong! About thirty years ago the area known by some as Dago Downtown (Old Northeast) started getting real raggedy. Same for Hunky Hill (Strawberry Hill) going mostly ghetto garbaged about that time, too. Knocking down the nastiest blight nearest the River Quay and the Seventh Street Casino has made a bit of an aesthetic fix...a little.

  8. Some 50 odd years ago I left Kansas City during a job transfer. I lived in Northeast, Brighton and The Esplanade. Went to church at Northeast Presbyterian Church. It was a wonderful place to live.
When I returned to Kansas City, 2001, I was so saddened at the condition of the Northeast and Midtown areas. Asians, Spanish and Blacks had moved in and the entire community was trashed.

My house is now for sale North of 210 Highway. It is empty.

I'll never come back to Kansas City or to the State of Missouri.

It may be cold in North Dakota but at least it's white and clean.
