Celebrate Kansas City Toy Train Streetcar Holiday Concert Schedule!?!

As of late, the streetcar has been touting their 3-million ridership number . . . Meanwhile, last winter their numbers plunged. Here's a look at the effort to boost those stats by way of local entertainment . . .

KC Streetcar Holiday Jam

Deets:

"As part of the Downtown Dazzle events, the Kansas City Streetcar is hosting nine live musical performances on board the streetcars and at streetcar stops. Music will range from traditional holiday music, covers and original music performed by local artists. Enjoy the holidays downtown and on board the KC Streetcar this season."

While this confirms "touristy frou-frou" complaints at the very least it's a nice bit of local celebration while locals wait for Tiger Grants to fund expansion.

You decide . . .

  1. Another reason NOT to ride; annoying people on phones is one thing....an entire chorus or jam session is another; what happened to peace, quiet and get me to my stop on time.

  2. Stupidest thing they've come up with yet. I don't want to be trapped in a streetcar with a bunch of fools playing noisemakers. Jesus fucking Christ.

  3. Tiz a grand illusion isn't tit? Free ride!

  4. At least most of the other cities who bought into the Streetcar Charlie Hales scam are admitting they are losing big money.

  5. How much is KC paying for this?

I wouldn't mind if the streetcar paid its own way with fares but making taxpayers and transit riders pay for entertainment of a 2.1 route is kind of ridiculous. Is there going to be music on the bus? Doubtful.

  6. ^^^Geezers shitting themselves. None of you shut-ins has been out of the house in years. You don't matter. The city moves on without you. You shit yourselves and complain about everything everyday! Don't worry most of you will be gone by years-end. Happy days are here again!!

  7. Hey, Geezer-Licker, glad to hear from you! Momma gave you back your keyboard I see, best try not to let her catch you doing that with her dirty panties again!

How's the Cheetos and Red Bull Diet going? Moved up to size 4X Sweatpants yet? Keep at it, you'll get a motorized Wheelchair from Medicaid yet! Course, the Chairlift up Mommy's Basement stairs is getting close to its maximum, but don't worry, "Problem Solvers" will get another one donated to "poor you" if necessary, just have Mommy call them.

Well, that's it for now, be sure to keep in touch, we're all REALLY INTERESTED in EVERYTHING you have to say!

  8. Just proves that the streetcar will never be mass transit like they want us to believe. It will always just be an entertainment train for white people.

  9. I've ridden the toy train - both ways. Add in so-called music and you truly have hell on rails. Can't imagine a worse fate.

  10. Just noticed this one, it's nice and I don't begrudge the streetcar their promotions but it seems like I wouldn't want my sales tax revenues going to this kind of thing. I'm guessing that this is an effort to bring more customers into business. But do people really want to hear this stuff while they're trying to get to their destination?

  11. ^^Well you have NO say in where your taxes go so thanks for playing.
