TKC SUNDAY SPECIAL!!! KNOW YOUR AUDIENCE: CHAD DEARTH BACKS DOWN FROM KANSAS CITY DENIAL OF SERVICE AGAINST MARCUS PETERS AFTER SOCIAL MEDIA RAGE AGAINST HIS CUSTOM RIM BIZ!!!

Today let's consider the aftermath of Kansas City consumer advocacy in the midst of ongoing National Anthem protest and disgruntled Chiefs footballer Marcus Peters failing to offer much in the way of political perspective.

A quick break down of the sitch . . .

This week KC Trends owner Chad Dearth called for a Kansas City biz boycott of Marcus Peters and promoted the idea of refusing the KC Chiefs cornerback service.

His post for those who haven't seen it . . .

Mr. Dearth's protest didn't go as planned.

He was called out by The Kansas City Star . . .

His post went viral on Facebook and started an EPIC flame war . . .

Hood websites across the Internets took him to task in articles like this one: Racist Biz Owner Chad Dearth Wants Businesses to Stop Serving Marcus Peters Because He Protests Against Racism

And even pundits with national audiences like Shaun King used him as a punching bag.

The aftermath is that the guy basically folded like a cheap paper napkin at a Kansas City BBQ feast.

His posts strangely disappeared, along with his social media presence AND even his biz is taking an oddly low profile . . . Or "taking a knee" on social media so to speak - Har!!! Sorry.

Now, what's more interesting than his initial hardline stance and quick retreat is the fact that he didn't think much about his clientele . . .

KC Trends sells big-ass wheels and custom rims.

Apparently, there's not a big market for this kind of merch among Conservative proponents of respect for the national anthem.

So the punchline here kinda writes itself:

In much the same way that Marcus Peters has failed to understand this his protest is neither persuasive nor effective and actually spits in the face of most Kansas City football fans . . . Mr. Dearth didn't really bother to do a modicum of market research and realize that his clientele might align themselves with protest against police brutality, on the side of a popular pro-athlete and in favor of "Black Lives Matter" rhetoric.

The only unfortunate part of this debate is the tragic racial component that callously overlooks so many African-American and minority supporters of the anthem and critics of this self-defeating unpatriotic demonstration.

While the goals of this protest might be advocacy against so-called systemic racism - The reality is that no one person can claim to speak for Black people as a monolithic group. Except maybe Beyonce.

But I digress . . .

Here's a really tedious interview with Mr. Dearth on Hot 103 Jamz where the KC Biz owner is taken to the woodshed by hosts and seems to crawl out of the studio with his tail between his legs.

There are some who claim the FB tirade against Peters was a publicity stunt but the reaction has been so overwhelmingly negative that it would laughable to consider that the guy decided to blow up his own biz over identity politics that he clearly didn't understand.

The reality is that Mr. Dearth pretty much destroyed custom rim street cred that he had worked YEARS to build with community outreach, charity efforts and networking.

In the final analysis . . .

LIKE IT OR NOT, PREZ TRUMP WAS CORRECT WHEN HE CALLED OUT THE NFL ANTHEM PROTEST AS MISGUIDED AND BAD FOR BIZ!!!

In this instance, an opponent of the anthem protest was politically damaged for his participation in divisive rhetoric that has been universally unproductive for the nation's discourse.

You decide . . .

Don, feel free to respond after you decipher what I've said. Next week will be fine.

  20. Annnnndddddd! The guy’s biggest mistake was saying that he was speaking for all of Kansas City. Dude! Your problem or minor annoyance or the interpretation thereof, is yours alone. Deal with your own commitment to ignorance in reflective silence at home, not on facebook.

  24. Chad wasnt being racist. He was being a patriot. But, when probably 80% of your clientel is black and dope dealers, you might wanna keep those feelings under wraps. I cant stand his family. His dad and his brother James are complete pricks. Havent done business with them for a longtime. But I can say pretty safely that Chad isnt racially motivated like that.
