As the eyes of the nation focus upon Kansas City football this evening, the scary topic of rising crime continues to plague residents.
And while this is probably clickbait, it's based on real data that speaks to the current uptick in local violence.
To wit . . .
KANSAS CITY RANKS #19 AMONG THE MOST "DANGEROUS, GHETTOEST CITIES IN AMERICA" IN A STUDY BASED ON FBI CRIME STATS!!!
From the listing . . .
"Property crime seems to dominate Kansas City . . . Ranked by FBI with the chance of falling victim to property crimes being 1 in 22."
There's no mention of the 2017 homicide spike that still hovers around a 20% increase this year over last. And while "Insider Monkey" may not be a bastion of journalistic integrity, and Prez Trump fans are currently mad at the Feds . . . The football night high-crime shout-out still remains a bit of an embarrassment.
You decide . . .
Surprised that we're still behind St. Louis. These rankings are all political.
ReplyDeleteI guess the world series didn't help out as much as we though it would. There's always next year.
DeleteKC has actually been lucky this year. The haven't been many triple and quadruple murders. That usually brings the homicide count higher. What's unfortunate is that the colder weather puts people in closer quarters and that will probably increase the number of murders of those who are just in the proximity of violence and not directly involved.
DeleteDoes this surprise anyone?
ReplyDeleteAnd sLIE wants a new airport with his name on it
ReplyDeleteI wonder if Westport and the Plaza will be safer now that it is winter?
ReplyDeleteFall is always the craziest time in Westport. All the extra cops for summertime are gone and understaffed and untrained security is left to fend for themselves. The weather is nice so the thugs are out.
DeleteTracy just stay in Kansas and mind your own business. Run along and bake some cookies. Bring me a coffee when they are done.
DeleteCops haven't left Westport yet.
Deleteblieron is that you impersonating a moron that went to mu?
ReplyDeleteI love you, Joseph Turner. Just because you pissed off some two-bit moron somewhere? It makes you a better person.
ReplyDeleteKeep on keeping our roads and bridges safe!!! Thanks for your service.
"And while "Insider Monkey" may not be a bastion journalistic integrity,"
ReplyDeleteThats ok. You're not.
Also, "of."

ReplyDeleteThey had a chance to turn it around and they FAILED.
Ghettoest? That's the new racial epithet for Black?
ReplyDeleteKCMO is a small shithole surrounded by mostly great suburbs. The suburbs own KCMO! Put a fence around KCMO and push toward the center. When it is done, KCMO will have a chance.
ReplyDeleteKCNO is the new Ruskin.

ReplyDeleteKILLA CITIES AT IT AGAIN! LETS GO!
ReplyDeleteWhen PBS aired "Our Divided City", the troubles seemed bleak enough. Dang, if those windows were not busted, those sewers not backing up, the dollar houses not blighted, trash not piling up, homicides not increased over last year to date, and all the aforementioned bleakness not getting worse, then, hey, who's gonna wear the Killa City label, huh?
