TKC MUST READ!!! SOCIALITE MEDIA WARRIOR TRACY THOMAS PLAYS HARDBALL AGAINST NEW KANSAS CITY AIRPORT!!!

As the election approaches, the talk is getting tougher regarding the new airport.

Accordingly . . .

CHECK THIS EPIC SCREED FROM TRACY THAT SPITS ON THE GRAVE OF DEAD CONSULTANTS AND CHALLENGES THE KANSAS CITY STATUS QUO!!!

I'm not sure how convincing any of this is, but it's pretty interesting.

Here's the money quote:

Tracy wrote: "The good news? Steve Glorioso is dead. The Yes campaign has written a big ass check to Big Ass Jeff Roe--who is doing nothing but eating Twinkies. Just like Steve Glorioso and Pat Gray, many times those so-called politicos are paid off just to keep them from working for the opposition. That appears to be the case this time . . ."

Here campaign advice is mostly deception and just a bit of rancor that hopes to inspire the low budget grassroots movement against the airport.

You decide if this strategy is effective . . .

  1. For those not aware, Tracy is the most beautiful women ever. Almost everyone already knows that, but it is a truth worth saying anyway.

  3. That's a really hateful thing to write. Why did she put her name on such garbage? I think people who are against the airport are much more professional than that and her post does us all a disservice.

  4. Deplorable.

  7. Thanks, 2:41. But someone tell Tony I'm no Socialite. Also no Socialist!

So DJ, thanks for signing your post. Exactly what didn't you think was factual in what I wrote?

Exactly what was hateful? I didn't say I was glad Glorioso was dead, I inferred rather that it's good for the No in November voters that he is no longer able to work on a campaign. Good for those who are tired of receiving endless untruthful postcard campaigns that deceive the voters. As Glorioso did so often, ending with the atrocious 123GoBond issue.

And it's a well known fact that Glorioso, Gray and Roe have OFTEN been paid to sit one out, or at the least, not secretly work for the other side. Pat Gray (former thieving employee of mine) used to brag about it!!!

I tell the truth. Sometimes the truth hurts. Stop killing the carrier pigeon. Now get busy and line up your carload of No voters. We can DO this!!! You have no idea how close the polling is...

  8. As always, Tracy offers excellent advice for turning out votes.
Jeff Roe and his gang of liars, cheats and thieves are incapable of running an inspired uplifting campaign.
If Sly gets his way, KC will end up with one of worst airports in country - cheaply built and poorly designed.
Worst airport ranking, in tandem with worst murder rate in USA, will give Killa City the national spotlight that Sly and Clowncil have long desired.
Vote No, No and Hell No.

  9. But can she cook, clean house and do laundry?

  10. The death of Steve Glorioso has hit the kids down at Mad Dog Mail harder than anyone. Right about now, they should be spewing bullshit every other day.

  15. No in November10/17/17, 4:29 PM

Could be the last nail in KC's coffin. Real shame. This was once a great city but the corporations sold it out, just like they're selling out most of America.

Trump said he could stop them, but he's one of them.

This is the way our nation ended.

  17. The area east of Brookside and west of Troost was abandoned, sad, and neglected. In the past five years, it has been reinvented as East Brookside, with all kinds of upscale shops and neighbors. Now certain areas east of Troost are being relabeled as the East Crossroads. Gentrification will follow. People who purchase the cheap little houses that are available are going to do very well. I know the area has broken hearts in the past, but I think a small investment is worth the risk. There are a shopping center and a number of fast food chains that have opened along Emmanuel Cleaver Blvd, and there is also a very nice housing area to the south. Things are going to happen around there.

  21. The voters should be angry about billion dollar fixes by the Rockhurst mafia. Interesting how some Chamber swells will endorse processes they would never allow in their businesses. Bought off clueless council being rigged by Sly and Reardon. Star hardly comments on the exceptional deviation from a best practices integrity approach here, nor does business. Kansas and Greitens and Trump should.

  22. Dear 4:49--
Thank you! You are absolutely right, I did not know the difference between Infer and Imply. I'm not one to lie and say I knew and just forgot. I just never had that pointed out to me.
So thank you--I looked it up.

Commonly Confused Words: infer / imply. Both verbs have to do with the communication of information. The difference between the two is that imply refers to giving information, while infer refers to receiving information. Imply means to strongly suggest the truth or existence of something that is not expressly stated.

One of the things I love about these conversations on TKC is that we all learn factoids, and sometimes we even change our minds or change our behaviors or get motivated to turn off this blog long enough to make a few phone calls and make a difference in this town.

You made a difference for me today. And I am not just implying it--I am stating it expressly! (Now I just need to use it in a sentence two more times in the next 24 hours, because that is how learning gets anchored in the brain. And that is a fact!

Bless you. I urge you to invent a nom de plume, and use it--you're smart enough to do that. And it just makes this experience more meaningful and easier to follow when the smart ones use names. Sets you apart from the trolls, cowards and dullards.

  24. This is how Sly's career ends politically. With him and Reardon getting rejected as corrupt by the public via the airport vote.

  26. This just in, on Ch. 41 news:
Edgemoor donated $60,000 toward the YES campaign, which has raised $1 million.

They do not have a signed contract with the city.

So is this a case of extortion by the campaign committee? (I am implying that it is!--one more use to go...)

This whole campaign stinks. I love that the YES people, Sly and the council and labor and the contractor are so uncertain about the virtue of their proposal that they are throwing a million bucks at the UNKNOWN AND UNORGANIZED OPPOSITION!

The polls must be showing it is losing or close to losing.

When you get your nightly polling phone calls, push whatever numbers on your phone you must to IMPLY that you are on board with this pig of a proposal. Then in the privacy of the voting booth, vote NO.

The pollsters will INFER that you are for it. Ha!

You are so close to defeating this. Mike White won his county commission seat by one vote. We call him Mandate Mike.

And Bartle Hall passed by 18 votes, but those were kinda stolen votes. Back in the day, they had real machines with wheels. Sometimes reading the numbers on the wheels was in question. So my former business partner, politico Jerry Jette, (who taught Pat Gray EVERY trick in the book) was dispatched by Mayor Wheeler to go to the election board while the election staff peered at the numbers stuck halfway between a higher and a lower number.

Jette knew EXACTLY how many votes he needed. Fourteen. And gave himself a cushion of four more. He flirted with the old gals in the Election Board office, "Hi Bernice--how's your son George doing? I hope that summer job we got for him helped you out! He hugged, he cajoled, and he counted. All the while, Bernice and Agnes and Carmella and the Good Old Girls from Redemtorist Parish and St. Elizabeths were deciding--is that a 7 or a 6?

    "Jerry, I think...hmmmm...(dramatic pause and a wink) I'm gonna say it's a 7!"
    "Good girl, Bernice!"

Of course it was completely arbitrary. Like hanging chad in Florida. No money changed hands. It was all flattery and comraderie and friendship and years and years spent at neighborhood parishes and St. Patrick's Day events and St. Joseph's tables, etc.

The minute Jette scored 18 more votes, he said, "Gotta meet the Mayor at Italian Gardens for lunch!" Hugs all around.

And that is how the city of KCMO won that election to build Bartle Hall on a cold December day.

So what's a little white lie to a phone surveyor or someone knocking on your door.
Vote NO and force the city to come back with a much BETTER PLAN. They are IMPLYING they will just give up for the next 50 years. That's bullshit.

    Vote No for something better.

  27. Very sage advice from Tracy on this matter. I have friends who visit me from all over the country, and nearly all of them have commented on MCI’s convenience at some time or another. A remodel/refresh would be just the ticket.

  28. Yet another boomer who thinks infrastructure magically appears and nothing new should ever be built.

That generation inherited everything, built nothing, shares nothing, and acts like they deserve everything. Their favorite activities include not retiring and accusing the generation they raised of being lazy.

That rambling blog filled with half baked conspiracy theories is exhibit A in why we can’t have nice things. Thank god their parents and children weren’t/aren’t like that, because I don’t think this country can handle another batch of selfish narcississts like them. Bruce Gibney was right, they are a generation of sociopaths.

I’ll make you a deal...we won’t come and try to influence your homeowner’s association into changing the approved shades of beige, and you stay in JoCo and let the new grown ups worry about the important stuff. You must be exhausted from decades of self-righteousness and condescension. (And yes, the irony in that last statement is intentional - after decades of having to listen to them I’ve learned from the best)
