TKC MUST READ!!! #NEWKCI RENDERINGS EXCLUDE CRUCIAL DEETS KANSAS CITY VOTERS NEED BEFORE NOVEMBER VOTE!!!

Here's one of the most important items that voters MUST read before making their decision. Even better, this post comes from a Kansas City insider who has participated in ENDLESS discussions and meetings on the subject of a new airport that now is being pushed by the civic elite despite a great deal of vital information denied to voters. Checkit:

Is Passenger Seating Not Included In A New KCI?

Architectural renderings by design (no pun intended) are meant to evoke Ooooh's and Ahhhhh's. The preliminary renderings of a proposed new terminal at Kansas City International Airport, released by Edgemoor Infrastructure a few weeks ago, are no exception.

  1. This is both brilliant and stunning. How is this missed by everyone who's paid to pay attention to this stuff? If true that it was pointed out weeks ago, it begs more questions of Edgemoor.

  2. Fair ask at the bottom of the article. They want us to vote "yes" and we don't know much about this $2Billion dollar plus project. I doubt these "renderings" are all that accurate. If we're going to invest 2 billion dollars in this thing we need to know that all the issues they claim exist at the current KCI are going to be addressed and we won't have these issues for the next 30-40 years.

It is a bit disappointing that even with this new terminal we won't have a many SW gates as STL. Wasn't one of the selling points for this new terminal "more flights"? I know KC is a little behind STL as far as market size. But I thought one of the things this new terminal was supposed to do was to grow our aviation footprint? As mentioned SW is our largest carrier in KC. Not only are we reducing the number of gates overall from what are available now but looks like we are not growing our SW footprint like we expected.

Yes, having a new airport like some of the other cities around the country would be nice. But this is just more of that veil of silence shit that the S'lie James administration has come to be known for.

I know they "say" tax payer dollars won't be involved. But they "said" that about the P&L. You mean to tell me Edgemoor is going to finance this thing 100% on their own without any TIFs or anything? TIF dollars are revenue that belongs to the city that is SUPPOSED to go to schools, libraries, etc. That is tax money. I know S'lie doesn't see that as tax dollars but it is. And he lawyering the language up to make it seem like it isn't.

And let's not forget that "infrastructure" language that was part of the GO BOND vote. "Infrastructure" can technically apply to things at the new KCI (water lines, roads, curbs, etc). And that IS tax dollars.

There's just a LOT of mystery and vagueness surrounding this thing. And I'm going to have a very hard time voting "yes" for this thing given what we're being told (and not told). It's going to suck if we build this thing, endure higher rates at the airport and potential taxing on the backend if any of the things they say are wrong with KCI still exist in the new airport.

  3. The City Council and the Mayor, as well as their puppetmaster developers, look at the public and see us as walking ATMs. Giving us the details to make an informed decision only makes us harder to fleece.

  4. he's right. the long kci we have now works for southwest.

clearly, we should remodel and update kci, not start a pre-emptive-war-type new airport that's not needed.

  5. Prove that there will be more direct flights, with fewer gates, or I vote NO.

  6. @9:41 AM Good luck getting that. Matter of fact, good luck getting ANYTHING of worth from our "trusted" leaders outside of vagueness, lies and misdirection.

  7. The sad part is the peckerwoods will set on thier asses and the dregs who never pay for sit in this town will vote yes. Sly will get it exactly how he wants it thanks to the KC apathetic. Case closed.

  8. The problem is nobody in MSM will report a thing like this.

  11. This woman was dating the HRD Director at the same time who guided her through the lawsuit process. Check to see if this is the woman the HRD Director just married? I believe so. The City Manager knows all about the many little love triangles going on in City Hall..... He knew about this, the ones involving the members of his staff.....where special girlfriends are embedded in these sub-contracts over at EDC. A real scandal nest down there in the City Manager's office.

  12. Who/what are you talking about 4:03?

  13. I'm guessing the lack of seats in the waiting area is deliberate. Passengers won't have to wait because the planes will be sitting there ready to scoop them up and fly them to their destination. That's after they take in some fine dining and do a little shopping, of course.

VOTE NO in November - we don't have enough information to make a reasonable decision.

  14. This sounds shady.....we got a girlfriend of a contractor helping sue the city for an unregistered contractor for a mystery funded project which pissed off Burns and MacDonnel and some other major players? This is just too damn much. Too damn confusing. I don't get all this. Why does the interior look like a swatch watch? No to primary colors and polka dots....please.
